I am experiencing extremely slow connections when opening threads, replying or just refreshing
I'm not having problems on any other forums, is there some settings I need to configure in order for this site to work properly?

Yes, under setting go to "I'm going to acting civil to other poster" and the speed will pick right up, try it.

This site actually works better than most, for me. What browser are you using? In the past I've had challenges with differing browsers. (I use firefox).

I truly don't know why everyone, in general has slow connections to this site. As NJ said, I've tried with IT until I'm blue in the face.

As for Etu's issue, I have solved it. Connection speed is not an issue when you're banned.

Issue report filed with the host company. Surprise, surprise, they're doing 'server maintenance for the next 2 wekes with no disruptive rolling outages during that time.'

Things are looking up. Sort of. Only took an hours worth of page refreshes and re-types to make 2 posts, including this one, and 1 edit. Took 2 hours yesterday. Now let's see if I'm granted permission to log off........

That sounds terrible. Called the tech guys again. Same old about non-disruptive server maintenance but they're supposed to be done ahead of schedule.

Anyone else experiencing issues?

... and as if by magic, aside from a couple page refreshes to get the ball rolling, all is well again. I shudder to think what navigation would have been like had the server maintenance been disruptive.
