Greg

Hello, my name is Greg. I believe in one God (not trinitarian [not JW]). I have a trinitarian Christian background and decades of church practice.

I believe that many Christian theologies developed from basic work for religious unification in Roman empire. Not Osiris etc. as mythicists say, but rather:

- Roman empire unification: Judaism and prior Greco-Roman polytheism

- Animal sacrificial practice and holidays in Judaism and polytheism, an obstacle to unity. End animal sacrifices. E.g. destroyed Jewish temple

- Religious circumcision, obstacle to unity.

- Roman animal sacrifice, ate the sacrifice ==> Jesus sacrifice, church, eat the "body"

- Greco-Roman human-like "gods and sons of gods" ==> Jesus is "son of god" ==> human-like "image of God"

- Judaism: Jesus is Rabbi ==> messiah, Passover sacrifice, priest

Roman sacrifice ritual, violent and eat sacrifice as meal (read about it). Church provided sacrifice theatrics, graphic crucifix image with dripping blood, "re-present" the sacrifice, eat the "body", drink the "blood", red wine "blood" theatrics.

Theological problem: Fabricated "Son of God" story plus "sacrifice" story. What does that mean? Need resurrection story (because the man, as God, can't die). Another fabricated story simply a result of the original made up stories.

Nothing to do with my belief in what God can or would do. Doubting Thomas? Irrelevant. Stories fabricated in the "New Testament" to match Pauline theology. Paul Greek-educated Roman elite, e.g. like Roman Senate, but Paul also Jewish. Probably selected to bridge Judaism and Greco-Roman religions, then suddenly, "new apostle".

Trinity theology merely a formal theological explanation for the stories that were already fabricated.

See also (unification):
Zoroastrianism: "Holy Spirit": "source of life", "emanates"
Catholicism: "Holy Spirit": "giver of life", "proceeds"

(Animal sacrifices did end in western civilization, but by unjust methods. Keep in mind that Jewish people and polytheists both practiced animal sacrifice.)
