There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio
Felix Mendelssohn was a well known musician and composer born in Germany in the early 19th century. He and his sister Fanny, also a composer and musician, had a grandfather named Moses Mendelssohn, well known Jewish theologian and philosopher.

Felix and Fanny were not raised Jewish. Their parents converted to Christianity and raised them Lutheran.

The articles I have included reflect on things like religion, culture, and identity, and how it affected many decisions, including the conversion, as well as creative decisions down the line for Felix and Fanny.
