    Selfishness is part of love

Although it seems so obvious now, it also seems so easy to miss. Virtually every human action is done in selfishness. Thus, love is inherently linked to it. Although it may seem absurd at first, just stop and think about it. Any act of charity, environmentalism, relationships and more...

    My state of mind

I've been posting here for a little while. And, most of you probably do not know but I have published two books of poetry. Anyway, while searching for my place in the world of spirituality, I've noticed that I am very often either depressed, suffering, in emotional pain, or filled with...

    What's the beef with homosexuality?

We have a limited set of rules or commandments that we take to be from God. These are the 10 Commandemnts from the Old Testiment and the 2 Commandments given by Jesus in the New Testiment. For whatever purpose - most likely power and social control, these have been preverted to mean things...

14 things the Bible says or dosen't say about sex

As far as the homosexuality issue goes, there is no mention that is not based on the reading into something that is not there. I think I have an idea of which verses you might be referring to and if this is the case I could explain exactly why it does not apply.

14 things the Bible says or dosen't say about sex

People also tend to bring up Leviticus in this instance. However, the willingly ingnore many parts of Leviticus today and see no problem in doing so - i.e. the prohibition against cutting one's hair. We also know from his own words that many comments in the letters of Paul are his personal...

14 things the Bible says or dosen't say about sex

It seems that over the last 2,000 years, many denominations have taken it upon themselves to interpret and adjust the message of Christ on many issues. And while sexuality is barely mentioned in the Bible compared to other topics (which of course suggests it's not among the top priorities), it...

Psychic mediums don't believe in Hell?

Is it true, as I've heard, that most psychic mediums do not believe in Hell? Or at least, Hell as many people perceive it - a physical place of eternal torture and suffering? It seems that if they believe in any form of Hell, it is of our own creation and does not have to be permanent.

    Labeling

What does one call one's self when his or her religious/spiritaul views do not adhere to any one religion but rather cross over several faith traditions and philosophical approaches? I mean, I seem to combine elements of at least but not limited to: Christianity Humanism Deism Buddhism...

    What is more important?

The issue is, one can never know ultimate morality since we are not privy to the necessary knowledge to do so. For example, for centuries, it was considered moral for a man to subjugate a female. With advancements in our knowledge about each gender, we now realize this is wrong. Same thing goes...

    What's the beef with homosexuality?

Just for clarification, what I meant in regard to the Bible not dealing with homosexuality as we know it today is that the focus in the Bible is basically on rape, sex between a person of higher and lower social status implying that it is about control and dominance, and male to male...

    What's the beef with homosexuality?

All good points. As a heterosexual male, I don't really fully comprehend homosexuality either. But, I'm sure this is probably the same psychological problem gays have with understanding straight people. The bottom line is to "Love one's neighbor as one's self" and in condemning gays, we failt...

    What is more important?

My view is that justice always outweighs morality. Why? Well, the ultimate justice (not necessarily court room or governmental justice and such) is constant and universal. Morality is not. Morality, while not totally relative, changes with advancements in knowledge and understanding.

    What's the beef with homosexuality?

It's no secret that most modern religions frown upon homosexuality. There are a few that do now and perhaps even embrace it but most do. The big question is - why? Arguments against it being unnatural do not stand up to scrutiny. Science has proven this incorrect. And, even if it is a disorder...

    What is more important?

Morality or justice? And yes, they are different and not inherently linked. It should be interesting to see the thoughts on this one.
