    Images of the Prophet

With respect to Robin L. Fox: (from: The Unauthorized Version Summary - Robin Lane Fox - Magill Book Reviews) Underlined emphasis mine. Just offering that for the perspective.

    Images of the Prophet

Thank you for the wkik quote. I see where you are coming from, but that quote does not support the idea that Constantine himself introduced the use of pagan idols as icons. Just that he opened the doors of Christianity to pagans and thus enabled the introduction of pagan practices. That was...

    Images of the Prophet

Hi Dondi, :) Do you have a reference source for this point? It seems kind of easy to blame everything we disagree with on Constantine. I agree that Constantine's adoption of Christianity as the official religion brought all kinds of problems, even if it meant that Christians were no...

    Images of the Prophet

I think motivation and intent matter in these situations. I have not looked at the wiki article, but I would assume that the intent is to inform and preserve information, not to insult. I think wiki should keep the picture. I don't think it is good to be hyper-sensitive about other...

    Entangled atoms!

That is cool and "spooky." I sometimes wonder if we will find entaglement at the bottom of psychic ability.

    What Abdul-Baha said on theology . . .

Hi PM, I would not aruge with any of the above. :) What do you mean by 'spiritual outcome?' What about people in earth-religions, Buddhism, Hinduism, non-theism and atheism?

    What Abdul-Baha said on theology . . .

Hi Postmaster. :) I think you take a rather cynical view of the Bible. There are many inconsistencies in the Bible...it was written and edited by multiple people over thousands of years, and the various books are making different points using different approaches. However, I do not think...

    What Abdul-Baha said on theology . . .

Hi Sen, Thank you for your reply. :) Paul and what has become the orthodox (or traditional) church believe in a bodily resurrection of Christ and eventually for all mankind. What exactly that bodily resurrection is? I agree is an interesting question with room for a lot of reflection...

Why is Christianity loosing the cultural war ?

Excellent points Path. It is how we choose to look at it and where we put our emphasis. It is just as easy to go through the Bible and the history of Christianity and point out all the things that support family, are inclusive and loving, and show that our families extend beyond those to whom...

    Golf Spirituality.

I think I have to agree that Scotland is still mecca for golfers. My husband played there once when he was 17. His Godparents were both from Scottland and took him there for his graduation present. He was in heaven, esp since the drinking age once he got into international air space was 17. :D

Hi Art, Debates are allowed in all the forums except the lounge, feedback, and the like. Flaming, personal attacks or attacks on particular religions are not allowed here or any where on the forum. Brian can clarify if you have further questions about this. Cheers, luna

    "Spiritual but not religious"

Hi Jackie, What probably happened is that you 'timed out' while writing your post (it happens to me all the time if I write a longer post or leave and come back to it later, so that more than say ten minutes elapses). If you know you've taken a long time to write a post you might copy save...

    What Abdul-Baha said on theology . . .

Hi Sen, Welcome to IO! :) I recognize your name and read about your disenrollemnt online soon after I left the Baha'i Faith myself. I am curious about what you wrote and why it lead to your disenrollment, although skimming your website it seems that you also do not understand exactly...

    Golf Spirituality.

I definitely think there is a large spiritual element to golf. My husband has Golf in the Kingdom and so I'll have to borrow it from him soon. My hub is in a golf-related business and is in Phoenix all the time. He believes it about playing for $15 in the summer, but he questions the sanity...
