    Jesus: Tales from the Crypt

The latest I've read on the subject (which was a while ago) is that there was an original quote about Jesus that had been 'adapted' at a later date- I'm no linguist and the argument backing this claim frankly baffled me but it revolved around two styles, syntax etc. Any how I was...

    trinity, again

As some will know I've struggled with the trinity concept-mainly because I can't find anything to grasp onto that I understand. I'd like to present this idea I've had as a discussion point and to find out if I'm any closer. The trinity is Father, Son and Spirit. Like Mind, Body and Spirit...

    Jesus: Tales from the Crypt

And? Just playing Devils Advocate for a moment-From 2000 years ago we have evidence of the existance of a lot of historical characters yet almost nothing, outside of the Gospels, that even mentions Jesus. Funnily enougth not even an official document relating to his trial, crucifixion or...

    Alternative Christian Theology- Personal Views

At this point onwards I sat up and realy started to pay attention. This (and many other posts, by many other people) has realy got me thinking. Thanks. I do believ that 'nit picking' is a very human thing to do- an expression of our desire to understand (often missused or missunderstood). I...

Prayer oil on students' desks raises ire

And if Muslim teachers had done this to a Christian student? My personal opinion on this is that the teachers were trying to help but a more practical way to do that would have been to offer extra lessons/tutoring to the students. (and prayed for them in privacy).

Seriously...Who does Jesus think He is?

I myself have had a 'near death' experiance- my personal opinion is that there is an as yet undiscovered chemical/biological reason for what's seen. The fact that myself and others have been brought back from seemingly being dead tends to prove, in my opinion, we weren't dead. Tricky subject...

    Star Trek Thread

Yeah, have to agree with those comments- if you ever bother to read interviews with Blalock (they did this recently in a magazine I read) it's quite sad watching her go from realy excited and positive about being in star trek to, by the end, relieveed it's all over because of the poor quality of...

Seriously...Who does Jesus think He is?

Maybe the 'burning fires' of Hell are metaphorical and describe the shame and dispare of those who-after judgment-fall short or reject God?

    What do you think?

In this case rewarding everyone for their works can also (in human terms) include what we'd call punishment 'cos if you haven't done any works and so on. Is that what you're saying?

    Heroes...the show

Seen the first two episodes (it's on Sci Fi in the UK). It's great. I've not been so intrigued and entertained by anything as much on TV for as long as I can remember (ok, Faescape, Firefly...). Easily the best thing on TV at the moment- it even 'dares' to have a little fun with the concept...

Seriously...Who does Jesus think He is?

Then again an awful lot of religions at the time (inc Judaism) required blood sacrifice-and there were a good few that demanded human sacrifice. Maybe there's an element of the symbolic going on here- Every other 'god' demands that humans sacrifice for them. Yet the Christian God did it the...

Wow, there's a lot to think about there Zagreus- I think you're right about this thread tho, it's a brave piece of work that demands you think outside of our comfortable boxes. I know for sure I'll be looking in regularly.
