that's the problem with "wearing" religion- too often these symbols (e.g. the Hindu OM, Native American images, Christian symbols) get commercialized to the point of being fashion statements or cutesy decor. religion should be about the relationship between one's self and the Transcendent...

very, very well said. there's a radio program around here where the refrain is "reclaiming america for christ". with the xenophobic, homophobic rhetoric that program puts out, one has to wonder when the speakers last opened the bible and read the words of christ.
