    Homosexuality and Religion

Nah, no impact. Good reply, actually. It's certainly structured better than my own and I respect it.

    Scientific Arguments>

Lunamoth, this is an interesting observation, and maybe it applies to me. I'm not sure. I guess, as with anything, it would depend on how I feel about it. In any case, I will conclude that I am a *believer*, although I have not . . . I'm going to say "renewed" any such commitment in my life...

How much did Jesus know he was God?

I don't know how right or wrong I am, this is just my belief: Jesus Christ was the Word of God manifested in the flesh. This may sound very fundamentalist, but that's not really how I understand the Bible. But I still believe that Jesus *is* God's message personified. That isn't necessarily...

    Fundamentalist Christianity

Since I have been a fundamentalist in my time, like others here, I may have something to add. Fundamentalists in general may be ignorant of lot of things, but the ones I knew were avid Bible students. Way Internationalists studied the Bible every day several times a day. They also cross...

    Fundamentalist Christianity

I know this thread is very old, but just in case you do check it again: Careful there . . . it depends on the denomination. The United Pentacostal Church teaches what they call "the true revelation of Christ"--that is only one God in one personality and his name is Jesus. The Way...

    Homosexuality and Religion

I'd say "well said" or "I couldn't agree more" but I have to admit that I've learned something new. Still, I think you make some very interesting points worth consideration. That last sentence *is* definitely well said, though--I think.

    Homosexuality and Religion

This is probably true to some extent. However, since I am not a fundamentalist, I will not take every detail in the Bible literally. I believe the Word is written in our hearts--not a book. The Bible is a guideline, not an absolute law. You don't have to believe the same way. My belief is...

    Holy Spirit: feminine form?

Female Revelator Interesting that you should mention that! This may be only loosely related to the thread, but it has something to do the "female Revelator" idea. I apologize if this is a terrible derailing of the thread. (Admin, feel free to move it if you wish). (I forget the proper...

    Is Prophecy dead?

I stand corrected. In the thread on Dead Sea Scrolls I paraphrased a scholar who said that Revelation was not written as a prohecy. Even if the author meant to convey how believers should conduct themselves when faced with persecution in his time, this could still be a form of "forth-telling."

America in the Dead Sea Scrolls

Very true. I have recently thought of America as the "Babylon [that] will fall" from Revelation, but I know that could easily be strecthing things (then again, who knows?). Also, I have read a sort scholarly introduction to Revelation in a Catholic Bible that explains a little about the...

    Miracles, THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE

I'm trying to understand how anything, scientific theory or otherwise, has been "proved beyond a shadow of a doubt." I actually agree that nature is recycled and that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but I would not say it is "proven." We can question anything, even scientific theory...

    socio-cultural evolution

I'm not surprised. Although I must admit that I have learned a lot things in this forum I had not expected. A little close-mindedness doesn't bother me so much, except when it's taken to extremes. I'm not likely to shed my "core" belief, for example, no matter what someone else might say...

    is Evil real?

The post above confuses me even more after reading it. I'll try to avoid taking on these kind of topics until I'm a little more clear on the subjects. I still appreciate everyone else's thoughts!

    Alternate Realities/Alternate Universes

It has become very apparent to me that not only is there a lot for me to learn here, some of the places where I added my 2cents was unnecessary. I have read a few books on these topics, however, that enjoyed very much. I did it as research for planned sci-fi epic and I'm glad I did, but...
