Atheism Is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method

Sure, but science experiments results are generally not considered valid until they have been reproduced or confirmed by others.

Psychopaths seem to have free will

Psychopaths are very manipulative and can switch on the charm, but I'm not sure that's real empathy. I dont know how that relates to being "evil", since it's how they actually behave that matters, not how they might behave.

This Is Not What I Am, excerpt from the Yamaka Sutta

Sorry but I'm still not clear what your interpretation is here. Are you saying there is a personal essence which continues? Or not?

    Quaker women told me

Christian and Hindu scriptures describe quite different things, and I don't think these false equivalences respect either tradition. And in my view, universalism and perennialism are usually the result of woolly or wishful thinking. They remind me of a stoned hippy saying "It's all one, man". :p

Atheism Is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method

People observe, either directly or via instruments.

This Is Not What I Am, excerpt from the Yamaka Sutta

I find it all rather ambiguous.

Atheism Is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method

The scientific method is based on empiricism, which involves observation. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method So if there is nothing about God which can be observed, then the scientific method can't be applied.

This Is Not What I Am, excerpt from the Yamaka Sutta

So what specifically is the wrong view referred to in the first paragraph of your post above?

    Why Neo-Paganism?

What's the practical difference between "Pagan" and "Neo-Pagan"?

    Blessed Solstice to Everyone

And happy winter solstice, which was on the Sunday before Christmas. I met with some friends to watch the sunrise over the sea, though it was very cloudy so we didn't see much! The summer solstice was very nice though, around a hundred people gathered where I was.

Should Holy/Sacred text be taken literally

I do care about the intent of the authors, trying to understand what they were really trying to communicate. Why bother reading these texts at all if you're not interested in that stuff?

    Quaker women told me

I'm sure the Quaker lady wouldn't be pleased if for example a Hindu told her she was misinformed about "heaven", and actually her aim was liberation from the cycle of rebirth (whatever). Imposing your religious beliefs on others is patronising and arrogant, in my view.

    About Homosexuality and Religion

Anyway, it seems like sex, religion and politics are best kept separate, since mixing them up only leads to trouble. :p

This Is Not What I Am, excerpt from the Yamaka Sutta

"This is not my self. This is not what I am". It's a variation on Neti-neti ("not this") which is interesting. Though I guess here there is no assumption of a true Self "beneath" the five aggregates.

Atheism Is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method

    Check what "empirical" means.

    About Homosexuality and Religion

So if a gay person joins Bahai they have to stay celibate? Do you have many gay members? And how do they respond to this "rule"?

    About Homosexuality and Religion

Most major religions are dominated by men, and many men are uncomfortable with homosexuality. I think it really is as simple as that.

    Messages awaiting moderation?

So you don't know? Maybe somebody who IS moderating here could explain what is going on?

Atheism Is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method

So what are the "non-empirical" sciences?

    About Homosexuality and Religion

Gambling is a choice, a behaviour. It is nothing like homosexuality, which is a sexual orientation. So I don't consider your comparison valid, or moral. These bigoted attitudes cause real suffering to real people, both inside and outside your faith. It saddens me that you don't seem to care.
