    HI I am new here

Thanks... as I was saying above, this is from when I was new a year and a half ago and when I looked at it I unthinkingly replied to a remark I hadn't seen before and accidentally resurrected the thread. 😁 😳🤭🫢🫨🫠😦

Probably. If what you mean is people getting so wrapped up in preconceived notions they don't actually see what is there.

These things can and do occur. I just wish they were more abundant: More often, more thoroughly, for more people.

    HI I am new here

LOL;)😁 (This is old from spring of 2023) We were on another thread and some of us noted our own intros were not there. I think @Leveller was the one who found our intros on another thread. But then I bumped it up without thinking by replying to an old comment...

Probably always did. I think the dignified mainline churches were a creature of existing prosperity and generational legacy membership rather than converts.

    Father, Son?

I believe that is his specialty. The book is a good introduction to the history of the topic. Great context. Interesting in looking it up I found there is another Richard Rubenstein who was a theologian.

The Archeology of the Kingdom of God: Diving a Bit Deeper into a Baha'i Approach to Metaphysics

Yes, I think this teaching would be very difficult to reconcile with any teaching that features choosing one's life ahead of time or any doctrine of reincarnation / transmigration of souls.

A world without the abrahamic revelatio...revolution.

Well, depending on with whom you speak -- there are those in Christendom who claim Jesus is referenced throughout the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible. (I didn't even realize how many references people think there are until recently) But really, it takes so much interpretation and supposition to see...

    Your religious/spiritual journey

It's a decades long phenomenon of decline of the establishment Protestant denominations. However, non denomination evangelical type churches remain steady and/or are growing. It's a shift of identification within the Protestant tradition methinks. For a long time, denomination served as an...

The Archeology of the Kingdom of God: Diving a Bit Deeper into a Baha'i Approach to Metaphysics

Intriguing. Is there the belief that the soul pre-exists? Origen I think thought that souls pre-existed in heaven. I think some interpretations of Judaism hold that all Jewish souls were present at Mt Sinai. Technical question: How do you insert the long quote into that spoiler button? Good...

The Archeology of the Kingdom of God: Diving a Bit Deeper into a Baha'i Approach to Metaphysics

What is your interpretation of what resurrection means? Or is resurrection not a key Bahai teaching about the afterlife/end of days?

The Archeology of the Kingdom of God: Diving a Bit Deeper into a Baha'i Approach to Metaphysics

I think the idea of bodily resurrection is scriptural, is adhered to by a few religions (I think possibly even outside the Abrahamic religions but I would have to double check) and what that bodily resurrection actually looks like is not spelled out in a fully self evident or heavily detailed...

    Thoughts on the empty tomb

Well, religion influences identity/community/belonging, so religious identity can be part of determining which is which and who is who, and those who know... Which is what I meant when I said religion is not necessarily the actual cause of wars, like many seem to think, but it IS a marker...
