    The horror of being Infinite

Well yes. What is being is God. This universe. All I suggest is that what we currently consciously perceive as being both as physical and mental may change when we die but are still conscious. Being conscious as All That Is Being may not be the wonderful being that many claim being God will be...

    The horror of being Infinite

Good points @Tone Bristow-Stagg I would simply add that when we were created to love God, the goal was truly to love ourselves. Because the Infinite form realized only the finite version could honestly do that. Please do post more words of Baha'u'llah that you believe speak further on this.

    The horror of being Infinite

Yes @RJM I mean a living entity. And by 'Infinite' Being I am referring to a Divine entity which would not be expected to be finite.

    The horror of being Infinite

It would not know it's godself by default in its finite form. It would be deluding itself on purpose. It would know of a conscious reality solely by the artifacts and actions of its finite existence. But possibly when we die, we become aware of our divine(but boring) nature again, fiddle about...

    The horror of being Infinite

Would you really want to be an Infinite Being? You can create anything.....so there are no challenges and actions become meaningless. You know everything.....so there is nothing new to discover. You are all that is.....so there is no separate being to be with. You are alone, with nothing to do...

Which religion is compatible with agnosticism

I am not too familiar with their teachings. They were largely a philosophical group no?

LOL! I think I viewed the meaning of that sentence differently than you viewed it. I meant it as: If you haven't actually experienced something but have heard about it, don't automatically dismiss it You probably viewed it as: Don't dismiss what you have experienced Am I right? The air is...

    Mental Illness & Religion

Damn. Like I said, you're a lucky dude. You've gained a mind that is not limited by its physical senses and can experience realities it has not known. Something is trying to break free in mine but I don't know if I'm following the right path. All I can do is be what I will be, whatever I will...

You dont mean lucid dreaming do you? I tried that and while i came close, i eventually abandoned it cos it messed with my sleep rhythm too much. I dont need to know myself as my Earthern Self in a dream to remember or even enjoy the dream. I find I am decent at meditation. When I dont do timed...

    Mental Illness & Religion

My dreams(sleeptime) are a very important part of my reality. They give me a deeper connection with my subcon. In fact, since today I am starting to test a path of renunciation since my dreams were very negative the previous week. Last night, I had very postive dreams of solving puzzles while...

    Mental Illness & Religion

Not sure what you mean by the matrix. Do you mean the physical world we currently share? Or the worlds within our minds that are unique to everyone? I don't see the 'thoughts not mine' that crop up in my head as a threat any more. By accepting them within, they changed from hostile to loving or...

    Mental Illness & Religion

I apologize if I confused you. While I did use the analogy of grasping too quickly of what validated our thoughts, I asked for the link so that I could analyze it myself. As for the second part, I am confused because I see nowhere in the post where I claimed that you had mystical experience. If...

Oh of course. Anyone is entitled to their opinions or beliefs no matter what they are. Those beliefs only become a factor in this world's reality when we try to manifest them at cost to others.

I mean becoming ALL that I am. Not just the parts that feel good or current society deems acceptable to be. Letting the darkness within also to be without letting it become.

    Mental Illness & Religion

Am I just me though? What I have read about in neuroscience like Split Brain Identity and my personal experiences with my inner voices, have led me to believe we are really at least 2, maybe 3 mental forces trying to control one body. Split Brain showed that when you physically cut the...

    Mental Illness & Religion

Yes, that is what I feel too. I believe what I define as God is simply a higher version of me guiding a lower self that has become more receptive. But still me in the end.

Then please do, either in this thread or start one of your own. I would be glad to join. Do you believe these voices are an extension of you or do they have a separate identity?

Then you are a lucky man. Out of curiousity, I would ask: - Do you actually hear voices or are they rather thoughts in your head that you did not think? - What do your voices tell you?
