    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Ok, Rabbi0. Hi Faithfulservant. Yes, absolutely....... I believe that Jesus stood up for the peasant classes of the Northern Jewish provinces, which would encompass about 80% + of the whole population. That's just what I believe, and so I see Jesus in a similar way to the Brave heart of...

Miracle of the fishes was a natural die-off?

I have no idea how the universe got to expand from a single point. I don't think they went out through the Red Sea, but through the Reed Sea, and amazing deed but not 600,000 people.... ;)

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

His faith.....yes! .......his. You've just got rid of one law, Thomas. That will leave about 600 to go! ....of course. The writings of Paul did not mention a sentence about anything that Jesus said or did did his mission, save from constant repitition about communion, death and resurrection...

Miracle of the fishes was a natural die-off?

Well.....yes! I reckon that most of the miracles in G-Mark can be explained as natural events, but the other gospels....not so much. Imo Jesus did exist, but he was a man with a rebellious mission..

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Having read about world, national and local houses of justice, and reasoning behind their change of title at this time, the criminal code with sentencing, mentions of world police forces (militaries) and civil laws, I cannot have any mindset but scepticism about this. Of course Baha'i can...

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Ah..... Now...... Since the Mosaic Laws as shown in my bible are not the only, or the full, list....can you confirm that they are in fact all correct...or not?

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

But Bahai has got to sell that to the World, Sen. A very hard sell. Many Bahair friends see it differently, you know:- Jeff Simmonds, who is in other respects a very sympathetic non-Bahá'í commentator on the Faith, said: While it is often down-played by Bahá'ís, the fact is that the ultimate...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

That's it! You re absolutely correct about that, Tony. What the people have voted for.......... and at this time that is a particularly poignant point for the world to consider. What the people vote for is what they get, but most Western countries trust that their foundations allow for...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Hmmm.....you're thinking of the intermediate situation. The ultimate goal is the establishment of a Baha'i government, judiciary and all. This is a short extract about the Baha'i World order....the Law of Bahauallah.....:- ........word should now be said regarding the theory on which this...

It makes me wonder why Bahauallah bothered to write all that criminal and civil law, then.

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Paul should have read about what God said. He explained quite clearly that his laws were there for the nations present before the Israelites. He also explained that his laws needed to be kept in order that 'the land speweth you not out'. You see? Carry these laws out for success and ignore...

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

I'll pass this thread over to other members from now. The Abrahamic God offered these same laws to any people who might wish to take them on and follow them.

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Mixing linen with wool......Mosaic law banning this.... Sceptics have long questioned this law, maybe hoping that their questions might confound the other 612, maybe? ;) Linen was produced from the flax plant, I believe, and the shredding down of flax stems though several grades until the...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Dickens wrote about the Church Courts and they were quite rotten with corruption, you know. His descriptions were quite shocking. Can you show me any mentions by Bahauallah about Baha'i majority countries being controlled by non Bahá'ís?

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Special Courts for Bahá'ís? Have those, but the Baha'i Criminal laws and Bahai sentencing of offenders can't ever be introduced...these were just ideas for thought? As long as all Baha'i Courts have no power and the nations' legal systems can be supreme in all final judgements......no...

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Yes, but back then the Israelites needed to grow fast! Mosaic laws were there for survival of countries at that time. Many Christians have quoted Mosaic laws at me when they fiund it to be useful to them. Many of the old laws are not so important now, such as banning gays or gay marriage, etc...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

The local assemblies would surely have to administer local affairs, inheritances, misdemeanours........everything! If not, then who (,for instance) would be responsible for, say, the fire brigade, local police, courts etc etc? Such issues couldn't be controlled from a national house! If a...

Talk by former UHJ member Glendord Mitchell, re the separation of church and state

Hi Sen....... In a Baha'i World when all control would be from the local, national and universal houses of justice could 'church' and 'state' be separated? The above Houses would be responsible for delivering all control, justice, practices etc from themselves, wouldn't they?

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

For sure. To 'miss the mark' thousands of years ago could mean failure, which would probably lead to serious sickness or death. Even the laws to promote unity and cohesion within the people had to be obeyed.......strictly. Sadly, failure hit the mark could only lead to failure of the nation...

    The real meaning of 'Sin'?

Hello all........ This thread is about 'Sin'. These are my opinions about what sin is, and they're going to differ markedly from the Christian idea, for sure! There were 613 Mosaic laws and if they had all been kept by any nation then that would have secured the nation in safety, strength...
