The color of a Baha'i poll

In my hard-back copy of the Book of Certitude there's (what I think is called) a frontispiece that has a calligraphic drawing of the Greatest Name along with a paragraph in green ink.

    Mona Mahmudnizhad

Isn't it cool? :) A few times while I was seeking for truth, I'd pray and ask what was true and the next day I'd get a Baha'i catalog in the mail. It happened about three times... always following a prayer asking for truth I'd get a Baha'i catalog. I first heard about the Faith from my oldest...

    Mona Mahmudnizhad

I heard this song a long time ago, before I had heard about the Baha'i Faith. Mona with the Children by Douglas John Cameron.

    Mona Mahmudnizhad

Mona Mahmudnizhad was a Baha'i girl killed in Iran in 1983 for teaching Baha'i children's classes. If I correctly remember what I read, sixteen Baha'is were killed that same day. Ten were women, at least one was a teenage girl, Mona. Mona's Dream I can't say whether it was Mona or not, but...

Re: "Mona's Dream" to start shooting later this year.. So it's true! I heard about this a long time ago! I heard that Mel Gibson was going to help make a movie with Jack Lenz about Mona Mahmudnizhad. And he is!!!!!

    Quotes from Baha'i sources:

Re: Showing the greatest kindness and love... The world is but a show, vain and empty, a mere nothing, bearing the semblance of reality. Set not your affections upon it. Break not the bond that uniteth you with your Creator, and be not of those that have erred and strayed from His ways. Verily...

should your names fade from every mortal mind

Hello Alex! Want to vote in the Baha'i color poll? I probably won't have any kids.. and with no kids I'll have no grandkids. With no grandkids there'll be no great grandkids... I probably will be forgotten as far as this world is concerned. Also, most people who ever lived haven't left any...

The color of a Baha'i poll

Cool :) I associate gold and yellow with the sun, and the sun I see as a symbol of God. And I see God as so Great, so All-Pervading and All-Encompassing, that He shines on Baha'is, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, etc., etc. The sun also makes plants green :D

The color of a Baha'i poll

Re: Colors Cool! I did not know that. Maybe I associate green with the Faith because of the Bab.... maybe I'm a Babi at heart :D I did have a dream that I was at a gateway talking to a Manifestation of God. In fact I asked Him if He was God. That was before I became a Baha'i. After entering...

The color of a Baha'i poll

Thanks Dream! Just what I wanted! :D I voted for green because that's the color I associate with the Baha'i Faith. My reasons are... green is the color of love and the heart.. it's also a color I associate with Paradise... and with Akka, Mount Carmel, and the Lotus Temple in India... the...

    Quotes from Baha'i sources:

Re: Kinds of Love: But the love which sometimes exists between friends is not (true) love, because it is subject to transmutation; this is merely fascination. As the breeze blows, the slender trees yield. If the wind is in the East the tree leans to the West, and if the wind turns to the West...

    Church membership

Yeah, I've made it clear I'm a Baha'i. The interfaith group I started is online, on myspace.... "Baha'i and Christian Interfaith Dialogue." I chose three moderators to replace me and they chose a fourth. My computer had trouble with myspace, especially myspace groups, so that's why I'm at this...

tilting at windmills: a response to 'redaction theory'

I believe Moses saw a Burning Bush and had communication with God... revelation from God. I can't say that the English translations are perfect or that any translations are perfect. I can't say that my understanding of it is complete, it couldn't be. I certainly can't take it literally word for...

    Church membership

While as Baha'is we're supposed to be clear about our religion--that we're Baha'is and not a combination of other memberships--I think it's encouraged to visit churches, synagogues, and mosques. "Consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship."...

    Holy Days

Two questions.... 1.) What are some of your favorite holy days? 2.) What are some lesser known holy days? _____ 1.) My favorite day is Naw-Ruz, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. It's not only the Baha'i new year, but also the Zoroastrian new year, for some Zoroastrians...

    Quotes from Baha'i sources:

O Son of Spirit! The best beloved of all things in My sight is Justice; turn not away therefrom if thou desirest Me, and neglect it not that I may confide in thee. By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not...

should I stay or should I go?

Someone tested my electricity levels one time and said I have twice the normal amount of electricity. I also have two crowns in my hair instead of one. That seems like an out of the blue thing to say, but "lightning from your fingertips" reminded me of that. The case could be made for blue for...

should I stay or should I go?

I'd kind of like to post a poll about what color people think of the Baha'i Faith as. Something like.... Do you think of the Baha'i Faith as... 1. Green 2. Red 3. Purple 4. Yellow/Gold 5. Blue 6. Orange ....and then the thread can be about why people picked a particular color. I thought of...
