    Quotes from Baha'i sources:

"What armour hath not been pierced by the arrow of destruction, and what regal brow not divested by the hand of Fate? What fortress hath withstood the approach of the Messenger of Death? What throne hath not been shattered to pieces, what palace not reduced to rubble? Could the people but taste...

should I stay or should I go?

Thank you so much! I would reply to everyone, but I'd pretty much say the same thing. Thanks!

should I stay or should I go?

You can make the Baha'i forum your home and talk about Christianity here if you like.

should I stay or should I go?

At least it's a little bit organized that way. It can be hard to keep track of everything... I don't try to keep track of everything... not in every forum anyway. I do stay on top of this one :)

should I stay or should I go?

Thanks Greymare! I can't keep up with everything because I don't spend that much time online. If I had all day I might read everything in every forum... or not. I don't know.

Why do you believe in YOUR religion

I'll answer the question after I tell you about an article I saw in the newspaper this morning. There was a great article (in my opinion) that said that seventy percent of Americans believe that people of many religions can gain eternal life. On the side they listed different religions and...

should I stay or should I go?

Thank you all for your great advice and support! I didn't miss any posts because I haven't blocked anyone. I didn't know you could do that. I do like the walled garden approach of CR, and I always check the Baha'i section first to see if there are any new posts. Then I go to "Today's Posts" and...

should I stay or should I go?

Social phobia may color my perceptions of this, it probably does, but I don't feel like talking to people in the rest of the comparative religion forum anymore because of this topic: http://www.comparative-religion.com/forum/many-paths-to-the-city-9088.html I felt like I was under attack, or...

    Quotes from Baha'i sources:

"They that valiantly labor in quest of God, will, when once they have renounced all else but Him, be so attached and wedded unto that City, that a moment’s separation from it would to them be unthinkable. They will hearken unto infallible proofs from the Hyacinth of that assembly, and will...

many paths to the city; one location

It's not selfish for me to be a Baha'i. One of the reasons I became a Baha'i is for the sake of world unity. I see in it the greatest hope for the world. Gandhi called the Baha'i Faith a solace to mankind.

    Any thoughts

I think "aggressive" when it comes to soapboxes refers to putting pressure on people to agree with you. So I guess I'd say the key word is pressure. You can say what you believe, that's totally fine. Share your beliefs, share your thoughts, and let go... i.e. don't worry about what people think...

    Baha'i culture...art, film, literature

"Born in Cheraw, South Carolina, on October 21, 1917..." Dizzy was born in South Carolina, the state with the most Baha'is... (the country with the most Baha'is is India.) He was born one day after the Birthday of the Bab and one hundred years after the Birthyear of Baha'u'llah :)

Francis king cracks open the Koran

Maybe I should give some context.... I was raised Mormon, ended up questioning everything and searching for truth in every religion. The Qur'an helped me a lot.

1963 - the hundredth anniversary of Ridvan, the Declaration of Baha'u'llah, also the year of the first Baha'i World Congress which was held in London (?) 1992 - the hundredth anniversary of the Ascension of Baha'u'llah, also the year of the second Baha'i World Congress which was held in New...

    Mormonism

There's a modern religion for you ;) It's a denomination of Christianity, a branch of the tree of Christianity that many Christians probably want to prune, but it's there, it's part of the tree. And it's modern... 1830. The official name is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints...
