    Biblical meaning of "Christ"

Right .. ..which only goes to show how Orthodox Christianity, as we know it today, could have more easily been manipulated by those with power at that time. For example, we know that it started as an offshoot of Judaism, believing that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah .. something that caused...

    Biblical meaning of "Christ"

I don't know why you would come to that conclusion.. Islam survived, without Muhammad 'dying and rising'. :)

    Thoughts about Trinity beliefs

One of the scribes came near and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, he asked him, "Which commandment is the first of all?" Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: the Lord is God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your...

    Thoughts about Trinity beliefs

Well, taking Scripture literally is highly problematic.. ..just look at the Creationist/Evolutionist debate that goes on and on in the US. The middle way is best .. I don't like speeding along the outside lane on a motorway! We can learn more from "the whole" than we can from a few...

    Thoughts about Trinity beliefs

That's a bit of an extreme viewpoint.. What we need to "give up", is lying, cheating, profiting from other people's misfortunes, usury etc. What we have have earnt through hard work is our own .. to spend on our family and community. "G-d has forbidden usury, and encouraged almsgiving" ..but...

    Thoughts about Trinity beliefs

..and as you believe that Jesus is G-d, that would imply that Jesus hates.. As far as I understand, Jesus hated major sin and hypocrisy .. and not people.

You said "I am laughing at the people who think that study of maths and science is inferior to the study of centuries old books.." ..so you think it is amusing for people to study religious books .. I assume that you include the study of Hindu sacred texts among those?

This looks very much to me, like the images that you previously found amusing.. The only difference is that the former showed children studying a book that is claimed to be from G-d, the Creator of the universe .. whilst this one shows children learning Hindu culture from a guru/sage.

Too simplistic .. do you make your conclusions from a few cherry-picked verses, or the whole of the Bible? In any case, why does it matter to you so much? Is it because you think that Jesus came along to abolish the 'law' of the OT ? ..because some verses in the NT quote Jesus saying that he...

    Christians and disciples

I do think that G-d wants us to obey Him. Look what happened to Adam and Eve, when they listened to satan. In other words, it is for our own good .. as is serving your nation (as long as it is not following a path of corruption).

The Bible as a story: What’s the story?

..maybe they smoked something.. o_O Whatever it was they did, they knew that G-d had forbidden it (for their own good). ..and they were no longer in their previous happy state (of innocence). ..and G-d forgave them as they repented (promised not to repeat the sin). ..and G-d is Oft-Forgiving...

..so more culture than religion, then.. Islam and Christianity are religions .. and they are taught by the church/mosque. Religious studies in schools and colleges came later, as the civilisations expanded.

Why would you think so? Religious instruction is often provided by the "church" .. do they not provide religious instruction in Hindu temples? Maybe not .. maybe there is not a lot to learn from Hinduism. ;)

Yes .. more than half of the world's population believe that studying Divine Scriptures is part of a valuable education .. what is so amusing about that? ..or maybe you are laughing at the poor, who have limited resources.

That's it .. people prefer to 'cherry-pick' verses that appear to support their preferred creed, and ignore others.

Yes .. it is the duty of a Muslim to educate themselves and others. ..especially by reading the Qur'an, preferably with understanding.

Mmm .. so we can all "make it up" as we go along.. Those who judge by what G-d has revealed, judge by something other than their own devising. ..but it may be that some people dislike what He has revealed, so turn away.

    One God, Many Paths

That could well be true .. but there would be no need for G-d to have sent Jesus and Muhammad to clarify His guidance, if ancient texts were representative .. that they hadn't been compromised in some way.

I mean that if people think that they are not in need of Divine guidance, then they will ignore it .. or perhaps even oppose it ! Like Pharaoh .. he opposed it .. he oppressed others, because he thought he knew better.

Changing circumstances? What changes are necessary to turn away from the laws of G-d? Even in war, there should be moral decisions made .. but as more and more people turn away from G-d, we see the consequences .. mass slaughter and madness in nations not at war .. treachery while making 'deals'...
