I have seen Dionysus compared to Jesus in many different books. The whole wine thing for one. I like the idea of a Dionysian Jesus... much less morbid and depressing than the crucified Jesus.:D

This is a bit old, but I had a thought to add. Krishna seems most like Dionysus. And Dionysus was claimed to have come from the East as he was a later addition to the Greek pantheon. I've never seen the two compared, but it makes some sense to me.
