    Broaching the Trinity: Three Persons?

So, the Trinity seems to be important as far as the Christ is concerned. What I am struggling with, is the idea of this Trinity, and the son in particular, being eternal. There was a one-off event, or so I am told, a little over two thousand years ago. Was the son eternally dormant prior to this?

    Interfaith is doing fine

@iBrian Rather late, but I just wanted to wish you the best of health. I had no idea that you were unwell.

Unification of all religions: The four heavenly items Chapter one (The basics)

I agree. What tends to be forgotten is that many unbelievers were once believers. Many unbelievers will become believers. The difference between the two can simply be a matter of time. I prefer to see beliefs or the lack of, as a part of our rich process of human and personal development.

Unification of all religions: The four heavenly items Chapter one (The basics)

Very true. We also have our own resident Hindu atheist, Aupmanav. Some followers of modern Druidry are atheist too.

Unification of all religions: The four heavenly items Chapter one (The basics)

Well that is certainly not my view. Atheism relies on a principle of "I can neither see it or feel it". The religious view seems to require rather more imagination and intuition and has resulted in vast amounts of deities, myths, moral codes, cosmologies and customs. Much of it contradictory at...

Unification of all religions: The four heavenly items Chapter one (The basics)

I suspect there is. Why else would you feel the need to raise the subject of race? There are numerous ways that can be used to divide the human race. Why choose this one? Why not short and tall or left and right-handed? Considering the ever-growing number of mixed race people in the world, the...

Unification of all religions: The four heavenly items Chapter one (The basics)

In the first instance, the racism could be put down to some sort of slip, and I am being very generous here. The fact that this person has already been told about this suggests, IMO, a far less pleasant attitude.

    On Fallen Angels

You may find this to be of interest. Cattle mutilation - Wikipedia. I was told about this by a friend. She mentioned that maps have been produced showing areas of animal mutilation and UFO sightings. A peak in one, she claimed, was usually accompanied by a peak in the other

So, Are Atheists Actually Smarter Than Believers??

@TheLightWithin probably some confusion. You wrote "I think a question like this is based on an initial observation..." in a response to my post, which contained a question. I thought that you was referring to my question. Re-reading the whole thing, I now see otherwise.

    The wormhole.

I had never heard of Burning Man, a quick visit to Wiki cleared that up. It seems like something I would really like to visit. Thanks for the info.

    The wormhole.

So, is the Wormhole Project your work? Is there a connection between you/it and the book of the same name, the one with an apple on the front.

So, Are Atheists Actually Smarter Than Believers??

No. No such observation has been made by myself. In fact, within the confines of my own personal life, it is about 50/50. So, to quote Thomas "I see no correlation between however one measures 'intelligence' and 'spirituality' – they are two separate and distinct capacities." That is why I ask...

So, Are Atheists Actually Smarter Than Believers??

So far this thread has been very interesting, but I think that Thomas put the whole thing to bed with "therefore I see no correlation between however one measures 'intelligence' and 'spirituality' – they are two separate and distinct capacities." So, with intellect removed, what are we left...

So, Are Atheists Actually Smarter Than Believers??

I agree Thomas, I have known quite a few atheists but only one knew anything of the bible, but he was a vicar's son. I found the usual attitude was a simple "show me". I do not believe in leprechauns but feel no need to be knowledgeable about Irish folklore.

The Trinity: Genesis of a doctrine

This is very true in my experience. I used to hang around with some very political people. I saw numerous debates where there was a clear loser but I never saw anybody change their mind.

The Truth: The Mathematical Proof of God, The Holy Trinity.

What was posted was nothing to do with any beliefs that I hold. I hoped to show that with a will, numbers and words can be made to indicate all sorts of things. Analysis has to be very careful. Personal bias can creep in. Who knows, but the fact that I have had very personal run-ins with both...

The Truth: The Mathematical Proof of God, The Holy Trinity.

Hi Tony, perhaps not always so harmless. On the 28th July 1986, Suzy Lamplugh, a London Estate Agent went to meet a potential client at 37 Shorrolds Road. She was never seen again. Her car was later found in Stevenage Road. 28 = 2 + 8 = 10 = 1. The same applies to 37. Shorrolds and Stevenage...
