Yes, I have found this to be generally true. I guess I am a little different to most. I have always enjoyed people challenging my beliefs, both political and spiritual. I have learnt far more that way than by people just agreeing with me, but it seems most people are not actively seeking this.

Looking back on my own experience I would say that they are there because of a passion but do not necessarily have much knowledge or teaching ability.

A good question. Personally I am against it. It seems tantamount to re-writing history. You can always write updates to give info on further detail or change of opinion, or even apologies should they be required.

That does make things a little clearer. I can certainly see the problem here. I have had conversations where, IMO, "the beyond us" card is overused. If however, some effort at comprehension is made, I feel it is reasonable. Thank you for your comments Thomas, they are most helpful.
