It is not for us to question G!d's intent, but...

It's just such a low-effort insult. Why not actually state your opinion intelligently? And if you can't be bothered to do that, why comment?

Or rather, I should say are people in general still using that term? Because it’s cringe.

Are atheists still calling religious people sheeple in 2023?

The Mystery of God’s Will Unfolding in this Matrix 2

But will you accept other faiths' interpretations of God's will in this thread if they contradict the Baha'i faith and listen to them and express interest in them without trying to constantly bring the conversation back to a solely Baha'i view? I'm genuinely asking because the topic of prophecy...

@Tony Bristow-Stagg, I have a question about the article you linked. The author states "The holy Scriptures of all faiths had spoken of Twin-Revelations that would appear at the 'time of the end.'". Do you know which scriptures he's referring to?

Being a badminton coach doesn't make prophethood less likely though! I mean, Jesus was a carpenter. And he was much more than a prophet, according to the NT.

I’m confused, is this referring to the article or to me not accepting Baha’i?

The Mystery of God’s Will Unfolding in this Matrix 2

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. And agree to disagree until then. This conversation reminds me of a fascinating article I read awhile ago. I might have to make my own post about it: https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2017/08/new-religions/533745/

Hmm, I mean, I can see where you're coming from, in that perilous times and major upheavals do lead to increased religiosity. It's already been convincingly argued that the old 'global secularization' myth doesn't really match up with the trends we're seeing. People really are not becoming less...

The Mystery of God’s Will Unfolding in this Matrix 2

But for those of us who have determined it isn't the absolute truth, such as myself? I understand Baha'i believe in a future where everyone, or at least most, will be Baha'i but I don't understand how that is meant to occur. I know personally I will never convert, and I'm also fairly confident...

The Mystery of God’s Will Unfolding in this Matrix 2

This is an interesting question. From the point of view of a non-Abrahamic, I don't know what a "Messenger of God" would look like to me. I don't believe we need messengers or prophets, necessarily. I think God can and has directly spoken to ordinary people from the beginning of time, without...

The Mystery of God’s Will Unfolding in this Matrix 2

But didn't he give that name to himself? So how does that constitute a fulfilled prophecy? Couldn't he have just read that passage of the Bible and gave himself that name? I'm not saying that's what happened, but I don't think that particular aspect of Baha'u'llah can be counted as a fulfilled...

This, 100%. I've always thought guilt was the worst emotion. I think also that guilt is so complex, spiritually. It can be a wakeup call, to turn from the things we're doing towards a better path, but in excess it can also be very spiritually damaging.

This is why I don't think prophecy is typically the best motivation to convert. It definitely can help facilitate faith, don't get me wrong, but I think for the most part you need a baseline of faith because you will always be able to find a natural explanation for any fulfilled prophecy. Though...

It's hard for me to respond to this, because I don't believe in the same prophets you do. I'm not sure if I even believe prophecy or prophets exist at all. But I am very interested in how one would identify a real prophet. It's tricky because if one already accepts a belief system, I think...
