    One God, Many Paths

Praying to God is basically begging for candies. Yeah, I am an atheist from a polytheist tradition. My perspective is different from yours. Satan like humans was a faulty creation of Abrahamic God. God allows Satan to continue the may-hem. Why?

    One God, Many Paths

I agree to that, but not to your elaboration. :)

    One God, Many Paths

Of course, not. If you pray to Shiva, only Shiva will know, not Vishnu. One have to invoke the God or Goddess that one want to correspond to. Has God forgiven Satan? These are nice ideas but not applicable to all. Even your God has an eternal hell for some, atheists qualify for that.

    One God, Many Paths

Well, the Pilate did not say that Jesus was a king. He asked a question. Jesus' answer was not correct. He should have answered clearly, yes or no. Obfuscation.

    One God, Many Paths

Many Gods and Goddesses? What is true and what is false? That Jesus was son of that One God or that Bahaollah was a manifestation of that One God? Good and Holy according to whom? Christians or Bahais? Or Hindus and Buddhists? For whom both these statements are not true. It is not an argument...

If you meet Eckhart on the road ...

Whether Eckhart or Sufi, that is only a subterfuge; still Christian or Muslim. Hindu mysticism is not tied to religion.

If you meet Eckhart on the road ...

I know, I know. Not interesting for me. We have lots of mysticism in Hinduism,. but it never appealed to me. Christian and mystic! Muslim and mystic. No, that is not even mysticism, it is a fake.

If you meet Eckhart on the road ...

Some paths start with humans and end with humans. Buddhism and some paths of Hinduism. They do not need a recourse to imaginary things - 'divine'.

If you meet Eckhart on the road ...

OP: If you meet Eckhart on the road ... I would not know who he is. But my belief is completely different. I will not have any problem in shaking hands with him, but would not engage in any discussion.

    Religion as Self Fulfilling Prophecy

A small correction: Metaphysically, if it works, there must be something there, .. in your case. I agree. Metaphysical argument. :) And cling to what was taught to me in childhood? :)

    questions about astronomy...

Last of the astronomical lessons (Chat-GPT): Albedo (reflectivity of planets) :D Mercury: ~0.11 (11%) Venus: ~0.65 (65%) - Venus has a high albedo due to its thick cloud cover. Earth: ~0.30 (30%) - This value can vary based on cloud cover and surface conditions. Mars: ~0.25...

    questions about astronomy...

Wil, I do not mind doing homework for children. ;) No. Last four planets are much heavier than Earth. They are distant, that is why they do not seem bright. Uranus and Neptune cannot even be seen with naked eye. Mass of planets, distance (Chat-GPT): Mercury: 3.30×10^23 kg - 91.7 million km...

They light-up dust particles. So it seems hazy near the surface of earth if looked from an angle. "Dust particles can extend to heights of about 5-7 kilometers (3-4 miles) in the atmosphere, .." DuckAssist "

    Recommended books on Hindu philosophy?

The very best book on philosophies in Hinduism, uncomparable (IMHO): "A History of Indian Philosophy" by Surendranath Dasgupta https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.49851/page/n203/mode/2up?view=theater Chapter 10 devoted to Sankara, Advaita; but that is just part of the whole. Free...

    Death is an illusion

I do not indulge in 'religion hunting'. I have studied all (fairly extensively). I stick with my view of Advaita (non-dual) Hinduism.

What have your beliefs cost you?

Yeah, coming from Abrahamic religions, it sounds strange, concocted.
