Hey Joesph, I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on this also. The OT never claimed to be scripture yet in the New both Jesus and the NT writers claim it be scirpture. It would be hard for me to believe that after the OT which points to CHrist, there would not be a NT in which...

Blinded by Belief - A Great Paradox

Hey Joesph, my point was that one can take the opposite opinion of you and say that one might be blinded be real actually truth in the bible (if it is the word of God which it possibly could be) because of fallible subjective experiences they might see as contradictory even though the could be...

Blinded by Belief - A Great Paradox

Hey Joesph, I seek the glory of God not because I am afraid, but rather because I see the Love of CHrist on the cross and the reponse is glory to God. I can somewhat comprehend the Holiness and justice of God (just as all of us scream for justice when someone murders someone) but when God...

Blinded by Belief - A Great Paradox

Experiences are fallible and if false (which obviously they can be) will also blind someone to real truth. Just as you say a belief in a book blinds, so does experience. One can disregard objective truth because it is in opposition to a subjective experience.

Blinded by Belief - A Great Paradox

A book can do more then point...it can reveal objective truth. On top of that if a book reveals something greater then all there is no need to shed it, but to indulge. The bible is more then finding comfort it is about finding Christ himself. Its not about the pages or words, it is about the...

Blinded by Belief - A Great Paradox

The only thing I know about the Kingdom is it is entered through repentence and faith in Jesus Christ alone and that dom which CHrist is King has not and will not fully manifested itself until his return.

Blinded by Belief - A Great Paradox

Very true Joesph, however if the Book is 100% true then ones interests that are contrary to the book must be sacrificed on the altar of truth. again,I would say that ones reliance on his wisdom it what makes him blind not his limitations. God Bless Dj

The NT scripture? 2 Tim 3:16 2 Peter 3:16 again distorting to their own destruction implies it has authority and probobaly since the word "graphe" also refers to the OLd Testament scripture there probably is a better connection then what you are giving me. (probably calling it scripture)I...

Blinded by Belief - A Great Paradox

On other hand men's intellect is munipulated by their own interests and as they search for truth, they might find certain truth in a book which is called by some to be the word of GOd(which certainly could be), but if it is anyway interfers with the interests of this life and they do not agree...

"Having a Book will not prevent men from having an agenda. Most cults like david Koresh's use the same book. That is no deterrent to mans agenda. During the crusades, Christians used the book to justify wars and killings. A book that can be intrepreted to suit ones need is no deterrant to mans...

z"The problem with answering unrelated questions to the thread is that your mind will then compartmentalize me under a label. The mind does this as a natural function. Then you will assume you understand where I am coming from when you actually do not. Things aren't as simple as...

Hey Joseph, you said Well said. Men had an agenda when they added and men had an agenda when they removed and might I add men were no different when they formed it. The english Bible was not available to the general public until 1539. Engllish and other Bibles were pretty well kept secret and...

    Word of God

Hi Joesph, i am not making a point at this moment, but simply trying to understand your view. It would be much easier for me to dialogue with you if I could understand where you are coming from. If you do not want to answer personal questions that is fine, but you have many assumptions and...

    Word of God

How do you know that he revealed it to you? How do you know that you are not building it instead of God? Is not the reason for the bible is because it is a revelation of GOd? Are you an gnositc? What do you believe CHrist died on a cross? I am curious. Can I be a buddist and still go to...

    Word of God

Hey Joesph, Does Jesus use that greek word when he refers to the OT? I am not sure it says "when I speak truth". That might be your opinion. Again Paul says all scripture is inspired, not just parts. The King James was revised due to that the books of the Apocrphya were added 1000...

Hey Joesph, how do you know that Jesus's message was to be written on the hearts of men if you do not trust scripture? What if somebody added it? I was also curious...what do you think Christianity is about? Thanks for interacting, I enjoy learning...
