Creation Museum causes stir in scientific circles

Quite alright, I appreciate the thought! Congratulations on your impending nuptuals which I read of on another thread. Marriage is a wonderful thing (if it doesn't kill you.):)

I agree in principle, but when it says that the way seems "right", doesn't that imply an effort, even though it is implied that the effort is misguided, toward doing what that which is right? So it's not a "seeking of evil", but a misguided persuit of right.

But what one perceives to be God's voice is filtered through, and is a reflection of the dogma. We talked about how the HS plays the bones in one's head. What does the voice of God sound like sans a predilection toward a particular dogma? That's the question. Sunny

Creation Museum causes stir in scientific circles

I guess it's a different thing when one wants to sell books. There seems to be a popular movement toward using eastern philosophical and spiritual concepts and cosmology as an analogy for explaining quantum physics. A lot gets lost in the process, but at least it makes very complex concepts a...

    the ‘no-god’ delusion.

The problem here is that you're jumping back and forth between non-correlative states- Newtonian and quantum. You are imposing the logic of one upon the other. It can't work like that. Quantum states are non-local. One can't speak of "self" in a quantum sense, so it is impossible to take the...

    Please Explain Being Pagan...

Neo-Paganism kind of seems like a game of dress-up for adults. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Creation Museum causes stir in scientific circles

Yes, well said Quahom. Scientists and theologians should confine themselves to their respective fields of expertise. Scientists by and large do. Theologians don't. That needs to change. And the respective expertise of both isn't really equatable. Theologians are experts on matters which...

    A Personal God?

I can't define God, so I try not to use that word. I thought for a while that I could borrow the word to try to express the object of my thoughts, but I just wind up talking past people.

I'm OK with that so long as it's understood that all dogma is suspect. In most cases, though, it is my observation that those who quote Prov. 14:12 have been backed into a corner over the unreasonable nature of their argument, and rather than capitulate they throw that tired old piece out as if...

It would seem that there is a hierarchical pecking order here, the top tier of which is exempted from what is expected from the lower tier. And then there are certain folks who seem to expect some modicum of obesience from the rest in deference to their self-perceived position in the...

The Temple of St. John is Open to Every Man

Dude, from what I can tell all of your lead posts are C&P from the Tribes site. No biggie, but any dunce can google that stuff up easily.

    Theosophical Hierarchy

It is definitely a difficult concept for us to understand: Non-being, which is True Being, precedes Being. I am the egg man; they are the egg men; I am the walrus?

Oh, OK I see what you mean. What was the question again? Oh yeah I guess, if you equate the old sinful man with reason. So that would make being born again a process of losing one's capacity for reason?

Hey Mark, Maybe you could give me your definition of natural man and then we could work from within that context? I'm just afraid we're going to wind up talking past each other; using the same terms but meaning different things.

I'm getting dangerously close to puppeteering Paul. That would be disingenuous on my part. I really shouldn't be speculating on the essence or actions of the Holy Spirit either since what I have in mind doesn't strictly equate with the Christian conception of it. And I can't comment on the...
