    On the meaning of Symbol

I don't have a problem with dogs using symbols. Language starts long before verbal and written communication. It's not just speaking and writing. And symbols are more than icons. How is body language communicated? In what form does the information exist while it's travelling from the...

    Let's talk about Indigo Children

Children today live in a unique environment. They have pressures we can't imagine. We know that evolution sometime happens in jerks rather than always being a smooth, slow process. I'm not sure if the indigo kids are a jerk ahead, or if it's the cultural environment that's leaped ahead.

The Monomyth: Why Campbell has never been entirely satisfying

What Bible versions have you read from?

NIV for me. The King James is hard to read, and I read that it wasn't very accurate. Don't know for sure.

    On the meaning of Symbol

Language can be exchanged for concepts the way money is exchanged for goods. It is essentially the currency of concepts. Language creates a codex of symbols which allows concepts to be compressed, standardized, recorded, and exchanged.

Signs spark biblical debate about homosexuality

That's an excellent point! In so many ways culture is all about a cult of identity, whether it's sexual identity, national identity, ethnic identity...You could draw the same distinction between being a man who is American, and an American man. The essential fact of humanity should come...
