    Reform Catholicism

Many would call this blasphemy...others progress. What would the Thomas I first met say? I think one of the missions of the church is to save us spiritually and ohysically...but I wonder is the mission of this reform to save the church?

    The Adamic Myth

My minister speaks of a masters class he took at Loyola University whose mission is to inspire students to learn, lead, and serve in a diverse and changing world, rooted in the Jesuit tradition of academic excellence and social justice. The Priest basically said the church fathers determined...

    Garments of Skins (Genesis 3:21)

In Charles Fillmore's metaphysics, garments of skins symbolize the physical body and the densification of consciousness. Core Interpretation When humanity lost its awareness of spiritual perfection (the "Edenic" state), Divine Love provided a protective casing. This transition represents...

    The Adamic Myth

I so wish Iived in a land where the majority of the believing inhabitants were not literalists...and vocal...and insistent...but alas. Now I would imagine what you are relating is graduate level theology...but it is my belief that the world would be a better place if is first became introduced...

    Gems of Wisdom & Virtue

From the Prophet by Kahlil Gibran On Children Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to any. You may give them your love but not your thoughts...

    What's so special about humans?

You asked a bundle of questions in your OP. I answered only the first one...and for that you lambasted me with... So it is now made apparent by you you did not want to know the answers to any question but your last one. Which is a huge assumption...that we all treat everything as inferior...

Does any part of Christian history or archaeology interest you?

I recall reading after the edict of Milan Constantine's mother, Helena, traveled to Jerusalem and the Holy Land to identify and "label" sacred locations. Based on local traditions and her own investigations, she identified several key sites. I thought that was interesting.

    Who created Evil?

It dont take much to find scripture where our loving G!d aint so loving. But if we play a no free will game is anything evil? Beauty like evil is in the eye of the beholder and we will easily find rationale where something is or isn't evil depending on perspective (ask a vegan) But created...

The end of a year, the beginning of a new, cleanup on aisle three...all your efforts are appreciated by this interloper....continue on with our appreciation which often comes out sounding like complaints as we, the royal we fumble thru life and the net that we are bound by. Me, I will continue...

What do you personally think that Jesus taught and why does it matter now?

Obviously we are playing in the playground we know...and what is unknown is what our actions have in the playground we dont know. Early surgeons thought a bloody gown from the last operation indicated a prowess in their field while unbeknownst to them they were transferring disease and bacteria...

Notes on God in the Gospel of John

Is there a realistic theology? I mean arent all origin stories so full of obvious holes they need to be taken as somewhere between mythology, allegory and parables? We aint so different... Mind (Father): The source or "Thinker." Idea (Son): The perfect "Thought" or "Word." Expression (Holy...

    Apologies for the downtime

Somehow I see this as indicative of our world today. Of the things our world needs, compassion, patience, and acceptance of what is.... Surely this doesn't fit the realm of unacceptable. It almost (to me) feels like a lesson in developing understanding that I and my frivolous needs for...
