    What are you currently reading?

I assume, as well, that you understand that the non-Torah, non-haftarah material is compiled, written, commented on, refracted from a Reform Jewish perspective. There are several other similar volumes, that approach the material from other perspectives.

    What are you currently reading?

I think you would find the revised edition to be, among other things, better organized.

Honor thy Father and thy Mother

@TheLightWithin - What I said in my previous post, #2, has applicability to a Jewish counselor

    Shiva vs Shiva

@wil - Observance does not begin until after a burial. If, as you seem to indicate, people were gathering prior to a funeral then whatever they were doing it was not sitting shiva. Homophones can be fun to study, but useful as the basis for interfaith dialogue? No. If you want I can recommend...

GODS: The Fabrication of a Theistic Mind

I hope I did not give the impression that I was saying that you had to visit some other website in order to have certain conversations.

GODS: The Fabrication of a Theistic Mind

No. There are places on the forum for certain questions and conversations that are appropriate for one subforum but not another. There is also a level of civility that this forum endeavors to foster. It is possible to argue with passion for one's position on an issue, to argue with force...

Honor thy Father and thy Mother

As you can probably guess, Judaism's response is more nuanced than that. Under the circumstances you paint, while you might have certain obligations as a son to a parent, the overriding consideration would be חַיֶּיךָ קוֹדְמִים -chayecha kodmin- your life takes precedence, the...

Unification of all religions: The four heavenly items Chapter one (The basics)

Either what is available in your part of the world is different than what is available here in the US or we just differ, in general, in our assessment. Should we ever meet I will simply remember not to suggest a movie night.

    Interfaith is doing fine

@iBrian - I echo the sentiments above. In fact, I don’t think of a single forum member who is not wishing you the same. May you be gifted with r’fuah shleima - the wholeness of healing, the healing of wholeness.

Is freewill real or just something we invented it ?

@davidsheep88 - @Aupmanyav does not need me to represent him. He can speak for himself. Here’s the thing, though. Aup is opinionated. He tends to be very blunt and can be quite acerbic. Theologically he and I have really nothing in common, but I respect him. Truth be told, you did owe him an...

Is freewill real or just something we invented it ?

@davidsheep88 - If you want to cut and paste material you did write and, by default, pass it off as your own, perhaps it is time for you review forum policies.

Unification of all religions: The four heavenly items Chapter one (The basics)

As pointed out to you on a different forum, intentional or not, these are racist stereotypes.

Oops. Obviously I meant to write "Those are not welcome on the forum."

Is freewill real or just something we invented it ?

@davidsheep88 - 1) You were rude and disrespectful to @Aupmanyav. You should apologize. 2) In your response, it seems to me, you crossed the line from disagreeing and presenting your views to preaching and proselytizing. Thoseare. Ot welcome on the forum.

What do I do with my old account.

Once @muhammad_isa and @TheLightWithin mentioned iBrian with the @ in front of his name he was automatically drawn into the situation.

    On Fallen Angels

I think you misunderstood what I am asking. In your post you included a Hebrew version of Isaiah 14:12. In that text Lucifer has been substituted in the Hebrew text. Lucifer, transliterated, not translated, using Hebrew letters. I am asking where did you come up with the altered Hebrew.

    On Fallen Angels

@Alif Balaam Yashin - Could you please tell me from where you copied and pasted the Hebrew of Isaiah 14:12. I'd like to know who transliterated into the Hebrew "Lucifer".

    On Fallen Angels

You have used verse translation from what calls itself "The Orthodox Jewish Bible." Don't be fooled by the name. It is not Jewish and it is decidedly not Orthodox. It is dishonest in its intention. Those responsible for it should be ashamed. You can probably guess that I am not exactly a fan of it.
