    Whats Behind Curtain Number 3?

Well no one is perfect right? :D But as far as I know I've done nothing to merit a trip to hell! Should people go to hell for doing really bad things? That's one loaded question! I do believe in justice. And I do believe some things are beyond redemption. If it was up to me punishment would...

God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them...

GK- Well yes there are a lot of good and bad in the world. But there's a reason for us to focus more on the bad. Bad is something that needs our attention and requires a fix. Good, is good. Makes us feel all fuzzy inside, but doesn't need any further action. (unless of course it inspires one...

    Whats Behind Curtain Number 3?

Thanks for all the interesting replies. What I was getting at was not picking another religion if I didn't like the Christian choice. But it made no sense to me, if in my life I earned a place in heaven I would have to "accept" Jesus as my savor before I was granted access. That seems like an...

    Whats Behind Curtain Number 3?

Behind curtain number 1 is Heaven. Behind curtain number 2 is Hell. Is there a curtain number 3? As a layman, it is my understanding one day I will die and end up at the pearly gates of Heaven. Here I will be asked to accept Jesus as my savoir. Answer yes, I go to Heaven. Answer no, I go...

    Discussing Matters of Faith:

I know the media inflates issues and stretches the truth, if not flat out lie. So I hope you are correct. Or let me put it this way, I hope most people of different faiths and non faiths know this, and interact civilly in their daily lives with one another.

What Was God Doing for All Eternity?

Thomas- Thanks for the interesting and lengthy reply. I feel honored it merited such a response. :) I do have one question. A Catholic Priest first proposed the Big Bank? I thought it was the capitalists that proposed the big banks? :D

    Discussing Matters of Faith:

A long, long, long time ago in High School (yeah that long ago) there was a girl in my class who was a devout Christian. I a non believer. We had many long discussions about God and faith over a three year period. But it was never heated. We never got angry with one another. We were always civil...

Atheist or Agnostic; which do you prefer?

Hi NJ, thank you for the welcome, and I can understand your curiosity. Someone directed me to this site. I started to lurk a bit. When I saw some topics on Atheism and Agnostic's (and some claiming they are), I decided to join and comment. There are some clarity I would like to get specifically...

God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them...

Man was created in Gods image. It's a pretty straight forward statement which I take on it's written word. One can argue if that was supposed to indicate a physical resemblance. However the behavior patterns of the two are the same.

Atheist or Agnostic; which do you prefer?

I've bounced back and forth from Atheist too Agnostic. Then back again. The Agnostic in me says I cannot deny that which is unknown. However I could say the same thing about dragons, leprechaun or unicorns. But at the end of the day I know there are none, so taking the Agnostic point of view is...

What Was God Doing for All Eternity?

@ GN- Yes I was tossing a monkey wrench into the discussion of creation. (Which I probably shouldn't have done in this thread) I read the following arguments. (1) God is eternal and created the universe. (2) God created the Big Bang which created the universe. (3) The Big Bang created the...

What Was God Doing for All Eternity?

According to scripture God created humans in his image. The deity processes thought, contemplates, creates and acts like a human being. Thus there must be a history of God's existence before the creation of the universe if in fact he is eternal. The idea he existed in an other worldly place...
