Alaho Abha Ahanu and everyone
Sorry for my late answering. As you may know, we in Iran are in a real revolutionary stage, riots in the streets and everything (you can read about it in the news) and the internet connection is really weak, so I cannot check internet as much as I used to.
But as...
Ahhh ok I seeee :) now that's our difference. Still, I think we work towards "somehow" the same goal that is to "know thyself" :)
Interesting to know about your religion. Thank you.
Wow. That's wonderful and now as weird as it may sound, yes, it is even more similar to Baha'i now. Because in the baha'i we are taught that we cannot/won't unite with God; there are no unions as such. It is a process of self realization and discovering our potential plus reaching the presence...
That preparation for life after the physical death sounds very similar to what baha'is and most of the members of other religions do. That's interesting.
By the way, what is Western Left Hand Path? Had never even heard the name.
I always wished I could have a great memory to memorize quotes and prayers etc but that is one thing I am not endowed with so I hope as I go on putting stuff here paraphrased by myself, you and others can help mentioning the original pieces :) thank you for your cooperation already.
You are right about the language of the English translations. Even though for me it was just a matter of time before I got used to reading them. My original language is Persian and I can also understand Arabic but I almost always read the Baha'i scripture in English.
Yet, I have this plan to...
Interesting points you've brought up.
In my opinion the notion of "life in any world being characterized by impermanance" goes very well with the baha'i idea of eternal growth and progression. That being said, we don't talk about "the world" after this life but there are endless realms and...
Hello Thomas and I agree with you. you mentioned good points. the only thing some people care about is their own progress no matter in what expense they get it.
As at the time of death, the real and eternal self of man, his soul, abandons its physical garment to soar in the realms of God, we may compare the body to a vehicle which has been used for the journey through earthly life and no longer needed once the destination has been reached.
Universal...
that is an interesting topic for a thread. I'll create one today. I was thinking today that as much as all people wish for peace and unity on earth, yet when there is a thread in which there are no arguments or fights, it is so boring just a few of us take part :D :D I guess one reason we humans...
Scientists say the chances of being hit by an asteroid is less than ten thousand years is almost zero. So, don't worry cuz we're gonna watch this world from the next world
by saying that the world is gonna be a wonderful place I mean human being will finally aaken to the reality of his own existance and the generality of people will have a much much better understanding of life and its mechanism. The world will become like one city, not just in words but in...
Right. The current condition of the world is very dark. It seems to be a cliche but I do believe that the darkest hour of the night is the hour right before the sunrise.
In my imagination, the world is gonna be a wonderful place in the next thousand years which is a short time in the cosmic...
Very interesting. That's the same reason why in my religion we believe in the eternal renewal of the Messengers and their teachings. The older ones after some centuries get "muddied" (in my own language) and lose its effect. So it needs to be renewed.
I personally think when we refer to the essence of truth as white light, it is for the sake of using a "language" to refer to that essence. Yet, we know that that Essence is beyond any words or names or attributes; it's beyond any white lights. I'd call it "colorlessness".
In my view, emptiness and any other personal effort that leads to a better understanding of the nature of the self is a good essential step towards unity. Likewise the effort a person may undertake to tame his/her ego leads to unity. Can we imagine a united world at peace when each individual...
Once recently I had an online class where I'd start reading the Gita from the beginning, a little bit every night, and explain it to the listeners, so thanks God I still completely remember all of it
The sub story of the Book is wonderful to me; how clever and wise (and also dangerous) to have a...
