Mad, bad,or the Son of God

There is an argument which runs that Jesus was mad, bad or else must have been the Son of God; that he he could not have been simply a good man or a great teacher. I would love to know what people here think about this. Thanks

    depression

Thanks She is better, but its still there, always will be I guess. Don't know why I wanted to keep it a secret before but it's actually my wife. In truth, I think one of the reasons she is better is that I that handle it much better now. I always used to try and make her happiness the thing...

    Non-Duality

I think I'll have to try not to think about that without thinking stuff. I think that might be the best thing all round.

    Non-Duality

Ah, I understand.[/FONT] I think it is also helpful to bear in mind one needs to consider from what viewpoint/s is the person speaking (e.g. relatively and / or absolutely, ideally and / or realistically). Sometimes a teaching is an attempt to break down our “normal” way of thinking and the...

    Non-Duality

Actually, no. I don't know if the rest of post should have explained it to me, but I don't understand. If we're just talking about "knowing" then yes, it does. Perhaps I misunderstood before, I thought you were suggesting that I should try and change "bad" into "good", this would attach values...

    Non-Duality

But a desires to transform bad into good, and to avoid the corruption of good into bad, attach values to good and bad. Good is to be desired, worked for, and pursued, bad is to fought against and avoided. Surely that is duality indeed.

    Non-Duality

When I first came across the concept of non-duality, it seemed that I was supposed to believe that "good" and "bad" did not really exist. I have a problem with this since it seems clear, to me at least, that "bad" really does exist. I wonder now if I perhaps misunderstood the concept...

    Alzheimer's disease

Hey Bandit Thanks for your reply. I have been thinking over what you wrote but still can't get past the idea every aspect of human experience is within God's grasp. I also know however, that my understanding could be very flawed. Anyway, thanks for the reply and I hope that you continue to...

    Alzheimer's disease

Hey Bandit Sorry to hear about your grandmother, a few years ago I spent some time caring for patients with alzheimer's and had a taste of the heartache that relatives must go through. As for whether God understands, I've always felt that questions like this reuduce God in some way. I can't...
