WizardDevil,
If Genesis is not symbolic, please show me what a tree of knowlege of 'good' and 'evil' looks like. And while you are at it, how about a serpent who talks and numerous other statements that make no sense when viewed literally.
It seems to me, to understand that God is Love precludes any misconception that God has a chosen people or favors one above another.

JM
Good Mee,
Yes, Anything that has a beginning has an end therefore if the human soul had a beginning, it will surely have an end. Therefor it is not immortal.

My apologies..... It seems I did misunderstand your post and yes God is not any sectarian notion of religion. It seems to me only to be our futile attempt to define God in our own conditioned image.

Re: ~(='.'=)~
Hi Dondi my brother,
No Game. Perhaps God is the source of ALL and it is our minds which tries to partition God. To me it seems God is knowable in that he IS ALL that is. There seems to me to not be a need to guess which one God is as none are able to adequately describe God...
Re: ~(='.'=)~
Not really Neemai,
Not really a no brainer... Your Either.... OR... is based on an assumption that God wouldn't go for this setup and perhaps therein lies the fallacy of your common sense logic.
Perhaps there are a lot of people making things up in a lot of religions but...
Interesting thought Wil,
However, there is a point applicable to what has been communicated on this thread that in effect has no more journey to go around again since all seeking has stopped and it is realized that there is nothing more to journey for. It was here all along and merely ignored...
Dondi,
Yes. Excellent example and there are many more. Besides.... Even without the writings, it seems to me, it is self-evident that God is not exclusive nor does does God have a favorite man made religion. All are part of God's creation and in the fulness of times God will gather all things...
Hello Neemai,
It seems to me that in the Greek Jesus is saying that he exists by the path that is truth and life (light as in illumination) that is the way to the father by which he that comes to the Father must come. That is the true light that lights every man that comes into the world...
Hello my brother Thomas,
Perhaps it is most true but your understanding of what he is saying is on an intellectual level which fails to grasp the deep meaning. It seems to me his words were spirit and cannot be grasped with the carnal mind. Just a view to consider.

One can see from reading Franklins response that he didn't necessarily disagree with the reasoning and logic of Paine nor did he believe that it wasn't true but rather that a great majority of mankind is weak and ignorant and have need of the motives of this religion to restrain them. It seems...
Hi Bodhi_mindisfree,
Yes, I read it from cover to cover and checked out each example for myself. Came to pretty well similiar conclusions as he did but without discounting its many inspiring and spiritual truths. In my view, the New testament excluding revelations and minor errors still makes...
Greetings Mark,
It seems to me that the 'translation' portion is used to tame the ego to a point that 'transformation' to the ego is not seen as something it would agressively oppose. This makes it 'ripe' so to speak. It becomes open to the fact that even though its identity will be lost, it...
17th,
Basically what it seems to me he is saying is ......
Romans 1:20
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Perhaps, He is...
Hi Dondi,
Just some more thoughts....
It seems to me that the word Allah is just the Muslim name for God. It doesn't signify a different God. Each of us has our own conditioned concept of God and though particulars or our current understanding may be different and some religions may apply a...
Faithfulservant,
Perhaps Christian Love is not an emotion. It seems the Love that Jesus preached was beyond emotions. The kind that returned good for evil and a loving kindness even toward our enemies. It seems to me it is unconditional and voluntary and is the very essence of God. Then again...
Seattlegal,
Yes, And religion is a concept of man/woman therefor all religions are inherently erroneous to some degree as communicated through the medium of his/her words.

JM
