Salaam--
I heard and read that Arabic language is difficult to translate into other languages. One of the hardest to translate they say is the Holy Qur'an. Why is it so? Is it because of its poetic language? I need some better understanding of this.
I am not a native Arabic speaker and have hard time memorizing the meaning of the translations of the surahs that I recite in prayers. This makes it hard for me to concentrate, because as I am reciting the prayers I attempt to remember what the verses mean. Very often I would stumble and then my mind wonders away. Can a Muslim pray in their own native language? Many have told me no (and I never tried to recite surahs in my native language during salats). Wouldn't make sense to be able to actually fully understand what one is saying in salat? Allah Almighty understands all languages.
Please do not condemn me, I am just asking.
