It is sad that many of self claimed religious leaders don't really have any faith. Faith teaches that the creator (You may give any name) gives life to all of us.
How can one kill any one in the name of faith?

Uhhh... specifics?

Or would you rather we try to guess?

That would be fun. I like games.

Ah yes, they've done that for millenia eh?

and often G!d told them.

Or they are doing it for G!d...divinely appointed as it were.

There are many ways to come to that belief, so there is no one explanation of how. It is possible to believe that killing is the right thing to do. Lots of people believe it, have believed it. People from many different backgrounds, but it usually starts with ignorance not faith. Faith requires you to believe in something and is only part of the issue. The self claimed religious leaders are another part and part of the answer to this complicated question.

CITIZENZEN - It is all over and has always been there in one form or the other ... so no specific.
WIL - it is right that they say that they are doing it for God -- do they believe that god is not capable of punishing the wrong people and wants help from these so called religious criminals OR they consider themselves as god.
In either case it is not faith
Dream --- Yes it is true self claimed religious leaders are part of the answer.

A BELIVER CAN NOT BE A KILLER

Okay... so you're speaking generally.

In that case I think you're painting with too broad a brush. Accusing someone or whole institutions of murder is very serious. It shouldn't be done lightly or carelessly... or merely for the sake of provoking a discussion.

Another is if you are killing for the sake of your government, family or tribe. That is also faith killing. You could say that competition is also faith based.

Faith is subjective because it depends on what a person has faith in, and your above explanation only describes faith in a creator. What that faith involves is also subjective, so someone's faith could include whatever they want because they could have faith in whatever they want. You are placing your own understanding of faith onto others when every perspective is a different perspective.

However when someone does something as evil as killing another and then claims that they are doing it because God, or whoever, told them to then I agree that they either do not have a correct understanding of the divine or they are using it to explain their destructive actions. The latter would be a false faith, as it is being used as a lie. The former is more tricky, as the person in question believes that they are truely following their faith, and that killing another is somehow included within their faith/belief system. Furthermore when this faith is then used to control and oppress people (ie: by a self appointed religious leader) then it becomes organised religion, and many denominations are guilty of this, both in the east and the west.
