PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Court documents filed in a priest abuse case say a high-ranking member of the Philadelphia Archdiocese lied to a man who complained he'd been raped by a priest, telling the accuser the priest had denied the allegations when in fact he'd admitted the assaults.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Monsignor William Lynn told a grand jury he lied to the boy because he believed the priest's admission was a confidential matter between the priest and his doctor.
