Hi,
Wassup with not being able to open the thread 'What makes you think you are right about belief?' in the Belief & Spirituality section? Have tried for two days now and keep getting a database error. This is a conspiracy ain't it. The whole thing just stinks of conspiracy!

me thinks Brian banned the BiblethumpinPreacher and closed the thread for the non interfaith animosity that was being generated.

This happened to coincide with a time when I could not access the site at all...

basically....clean up on aisle 3... I'm guessn there were numerous complaints to warrant such action from our normally hands off host.

play nice folks.

Oh...and I apologize for any of my actions that led to the above interaction... I did becme aware of where I was being drawn and ran to the OFC for some liquid meditation.

For the last couple of days, I've been getting database errors when clicking on various links, including clicking on forums:

Database error

The Interfaith forums database has encountered a problem.

Please try the following:

- Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
- Open the interfaith DOT org home page, then try to open another page.
- Click the Back button to try another link.

The Interfaith forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
My guess is that one or more of the database index files have been damaged, and needs repair.

Hmmm. The only thread I cannot open is the one I mentioned (which will still not open). Everything else seems to be working fine for me. That is the error message I got as well Dan; curious why some are having more trouble than others.

Hopefully our kind and benevolent creator will come along soon and fix it all up. One can never find a kind and benevolent creator when one needs one!

Wil I don't know if that thread might have been locked or not. Most forums I have been on there is a cute little lock icon over the thread's icon that says the thread is locked. Don't know if this forum works that way or not.

Locked threads are still readable.... I think it was just removed...so the link is looking for something that no longer exists....

Like a shortcut on your desktop to a file you deleted.

If i'm logged in, I can access the threads in the "Last Post" column. But I get the database error if I try to access the Forum links, so I can't get to any other threads.

If I'm not logged in, I can access the Forum links and see the links to the threads in the forums, but I get the database error if I click on some of the thread links, including the "belief" thread.

Searching tends to give me the database error too.

User/patient says, "Doc/tech guru everytime I do this it hurts/produces database error"

Tech Guru/doc replies, "Don't do that"

Apologies, yes, another site on the server was getting overwhelmed by bots, which took the server down, and left it crashing when it restarted.

I hadn't realised that the database here had also been damaged - I've just repaired it, which should fix the database errors. :)

Also, as a general point, when you see a troll, please don't reply - just click the "report post" button

So if I can't see a thread, there's a purpose for that.

It's like faith. There's a plan we're supposed to follow, even if we don't understand all the details. Got it. ;)
