Does anyone have any experience with places that practice vague Christian community living where no one denomination is promoted above another and the actual rituals are minimal though the entire organization maintains a distinct religious/Christian POV.

I used to think they were uniformly positive and allowed those who wanted to a place to practice their faith subtly and in the company of like minded people they might not have otherwise met. Then a friend pointed out that since ritualistic religion tends to play such a small role in these communities yet they still choose members based on faith, they are actually causing more exclusion and therefore harm than good.

The Quakers might fit your description where no one denomination is promoted, although I don't know if they live in a community. They have meetings.
