Here is an article about research into the idea that putting our brains into an electromagnetic field can change what we think about religion, etc.

Could your views on God and immigration be changed by using MAGNETS? Brain stimulation can alter beliefs, study claims

"Psychologists have discovered it's possible to significantly change a person's beliefs simply by targeting their brain with magnets.

"Using what's known as transcranial magnetic stimulation, the researchers were able to temporarily shut down the part of the brain associated with detecting and solving problems.

"People who were subjected to this treatment reported that their belief in God dropped by a third following the stimulation, while there was an increase in positive feelings towards immigrants."

I don't know about the article ... it would be interesting to see how long-lasting the effects were.

But I'm pretty sure analysis would find that long-term exposure to the Daily Mail will increase your negative feelings towards immigrants, foreigners generally, anyone receiving benefits of any kind, women ...

Don't know how reputable the daily mail is, but the conscious mind, that is the mind of the flesh is easily influenced, altered, damaged or manipulated in any number of ways. The mind of the soul however, that's another matter altogether.

I'd agree more with an old History Channel's explanation that people are drawn to these magnetic hotspots throughout history, and that those fields emitted make people more susceptible to religious tendencies. If, as I believe there is, a creator with a continuing purpose for us, it would make sense that he would set up civilizations to develop in certain areas whether it be for resources of future interactions.

My personal opinion is that if exposing someone to a magnetic field could change the person's religious beliefs, then MRI exams would be highly restricted (at the very least) which would leave many patients with some form of traumatic head/brain injury or certain chronic illnesses of the brain/cranium/upper spinal column up sh!t creek without a plumber's helper. And we won't discuss the technicians...

Sounds a bit like the dark side of the 'God Helmet' that was in the news a few years back. The helmet was meant to give atheists the experience of believing.

I looked at the source research, and basically the magnetic field made people more rational and less fearful.
