(My person had chanced the file extension, since "amr" is not allowed. Just chance "txt" to "amr" and it should work. Not sure if amr works for everyone, heard that mediaplayer need encoder for it sometimes)

Now that is inspired. I've wanted to attach audio files before, but couldn't figure out how. Many thanks. By the way, VLC player, available free online, can open .amr files.

Under our current server account, we don't have the storage space for attaching audio files. Sorry.

Space is for sure a matter, but amr are not really that big. Acctually it's normaly just a setting in the admin panel to allow this or that file extention. As one sees, its possible to attach anykind of file, just but changing the extention.

Just that a request has not been a missunderstanding.
One is "do we have enough space to encourage such?" and the other a setting adding simply ",amr" or ",mp3" or both in the settings allowed extentions.

When one asks and it is answered should one accept the answer from the one footing the bill and doing the work?

Or should one ask the one footing the bill.and doing the work for more effort and more bill footing.

Life in community is interesting, there is entering and looking around and joining in and with.community. and then there is barging in and rearranging furniture and indicating all the foibles and wrongs rather than watering the plants, how joining discussion and being thankful.for the nourishment provided.

Art can shock some folks, make others uncomfortable and others.just shake their head... Some folks are just art.

Indeed, but sometimes we feel just "caught" althought there is nowhere a request.
Sometimes there are people who really enjoy giving, service and meritious deeds, and more than happy if getting hints what possible could be made.
Sometimes detail explainings can help out of certain preoccupations.

Sometimes we are annoyed seeing other carring for use and base them on guily feelings nothing haven done for one self but just using and stay silent.

Sometimes we do not understand the matter well and have no vision at all.

Sometimes we are just annoyed because we are not in charge or can take control.

And sometimes we are simply in a bad mood and dont like it that others are not.

And sometimes we search simply for reasons to follow our ill-will on what ever place we can find a way to let it seem ritghous.

So there are good mindstates and bad, good intentions and bad ones and simply one self could know, aside of some who could read mind.

So far in the forums feedback area, Wil. Feedback members might be not thought on this place, but to feed back which does not nesseserily means one desires in regard of the forum, but could.

Take care not to get the name ill-wil, thinking on the dove.

But maybe you have something that is useful in regard of the topic. Maybe Wil likes to speak out his mind and attach it, to give it a try how it feels.

Thanks Steve. Yeah, I figured as much. That's why I never bothered to ask. Shoot, our current host has enough trouble keeping the cache clear as it is...lol! No need to add to the inept department... I mean IT department's workload. The need doesn't arise all that often anyway. Nice to know there's a work around though when it does.

Yep, I was happy to check and I did find a plugin that let me add audio file attachments. But it ultimately comes down to our current storage capacity and the cost to upgrade to a plan with more space. Maybe a few years down the road when I get a raise at work...

And when grandma has wheels, she'd be a bus and we'd be able to go around town. Eh?

So attaching other files like txt 1 MB each post would be ok? Its seen that its merely a resources thing while space and traffic are two things.

Maybe its general good to inform others of how fare given resources are used and how great they are, so others would generally have the possibility to be either moderate in use or maybe generous in changing certain situation with support.
Give people possibilities to actually practice what they normally just talk about. Such does not mean to beg or suggest such but making things just visible so that wise people could see and act.

Simply link to your audio file stored someplace else.

He has said storage is of limited supply, honor that.

Or ask how much you need to donate so the site can have a few more terabytes.

We have some traffic issues that impact our resources. But there is also a space concern on the server. We've amassed a lot of material during the forum's existence. In general, we don't have many attachments outside of pictures and those aren't very large. But as wil suggested, if you have files you'd like to share, you can point a link to them.

Or ask how much you need to donate so the site can have a few more terabytes.
I've actually had people offer to donate during the time I've been on the forum. While I appreciate those offers, I'm not comfortable with taking people's money because then they might feel that they can dictate what goes on the forum. I'm going for as much impartiality as possible in deciding what is posted and sticks around, within the guidelines of the code of conduct.
