It all started to get confused when critics began to read Scripture from a Greek rather than Hebraic mindset, and interpreted the texts accordingly, missing the metaphysical insights of the sacred scribe.

sidenote, tis exactly what Filmore attempts to fix with the metaphysical bible dictionary... Now if we only had a 2000 year old list of colloquial idioms!
