Baha'i
The Baha’i Faith is a new world religion begun in 1844. There were what we Baha’is call Twin Manifestations of God that appeared in the nineteenth century the first was Siyyid Ali Muhammad Shirazi known as the Bab (Gate) in 1844 and the second was Mirza Husayn Ali known as Baha’u’llah (the Glory of God) in 1863.

In my country the United States the Baha’i Faith was mentioned at the first Parliament of World Religions in Chicago Illinois in 1893.
Many people do not know this but in 1867 the Baha’is of Baghdad sent a communication to the US Congress about the oppression of their Faith.

Soon after 1893 Americans became interested in the Baha’i Faith and a few went on pilgrimage to Haifa - Akka area around 1898. The eldest Son of Baha’u’llah known as Abdul-Baha later visited the United States in 1912 and spoke in many churches and gatherings across the country.

Abdul-Baha laid the corner stone to what was to become the Baha’i House of Worship in Wilmette Illinois which was completed in 1953.
