The Ridvan (Riz-wan) season begins after sunset on April 20th this year. It's the Twelve Day Anniversary of the Declaration of Baha'u'llah in an island garden of the Tigris River in Baghdad in 1863. Baha'u'llah was in exile from Persia and He was in Baghdad. He was deemed too close by Persian authorities to some sites of pilgrimage in and near Baghdad so a Persian diplomat requested the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire to move Him away to Istanbul. Baha'u'llah later traveled to Istanbul as the Sultan ordered but first en route He spent a fortnight in the "verdant" isle of the Tigris. The first, ninth and twelfth days of Ridvan are Baha'i Holy Days.
While in the Garden Isle Baha'u'llah announced to close friends and family that He was "Him Whom God would make manifest" promised by Siyyid Ali Muhammad the "Bab" (Gate) Who had been martyred in Tabriz in 1850.
Two sites are referred to as Ridvan: One is located in Baghdad known as the Najibiyyih Garden in the Tigris River and the other Ridvan Garden near Akka, Israel.
“One day of days We repaired unto Our Green Island. Upon Our arrival, We beheld its streams flowing, and its trees luxuriant, and the sunlight playing in their midst. Turning Our face to the right, We beheld what the pen is powerless to describe; nor can it set forth that which the eye of the Lord of Mankind witnessed in that most sanctified, that most sublime, that blest, and most exalted Spot. Turning, then, to the left We gazed on one of the Beauties of the Most Sublime Paradise, standing on a pillar of light, and calling aloud saying: "O inmates of earth and heaven! Behold ye My beauty, and My radiance, and My revelation, and My effulgence. By God, the True One! I am Trustworthiness and the revelation thereof, and the beauty thereof. I will recompense whosoever will cleave unto Me, and recognize My rank and station, and hold fast unto My hem. I am the most great ornament of the people of Baha, and the vesture of glory unto all who are in the kingdom of creation. I am the supreme instrument for the prosperity of the world, and the horizon of assurance unto all beings."
~ Baha'u'llah, Tablets of Baha'u'llah, p. 37
Tablets of Bahá'u'lláh Revealed After the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, pages 31-44
Baha’u’llah is revealing His Station:
“…I will recompense whosoever will cleave unto Me, and recognize
My rank and station, and hold fast unto My hem. I am the most great ornament of the people of Baha, and the vesture of glory unto all who are in the kingdom of creation. I am the supreme instrument for the prosperity of the world, and the horizon of assurance unto all beings.”

The word “Paradise” also has a Persian origin and means a Garden and in Arabic “Ridvan” has the same meaning.
From an article in Wikipedia:
Persian transliteration: Riá¸ván,
Persian pronunciation: is a twelve-day festival in the Bahá'à Faith, commemorating the commencement of Bahá'u'lláh's prophethood. It begins at sunset on April 20 and continues until sunset, May 2. On the first (April 21), ninth (April 29) and twelfth days of Ridván (May 2), work and schooling should be suspended.[1]
"Ridván" means paradise, and is named for the Garden of Ridván, outside Baghdad where Bahá'u'lláh stayed for twelve days after the Ottoman Empire exiled him from Baghdad and before commencing his journey to Constantinople.
