Next week Baha'is around the world will be observing a Holy Day starting with sunset Wednesday May 23rd and during the next day May 24th. The Baha'i calendar also called the "Badi Calendar" began in 1844.
The Holy Day commemorates the Declaration of Siyyid Ali Muhammad of Shiraz Who was known as the "The Bab" ("The Gate") declared that He was the Promised One in 1844 or 1260 AH.
