Salaam,

I'm a Shia Muslim (part-Sufi) and long time avid participator in many religions and traditions.
Brief bio; Grew up a Christian, turned atheist, then turned Thelemite (where I had a God-realization), then moved into both Islam and Hinduism in my 20s, naturally deciding on Islam (out of it's esoteric center) I find great value in most religions and traditions and I'm looking forward to meeting you guys :)

As-Salaam 'Alaykum

Welcome to the forum. I am also Shi'a and a student of 'Irfani. Prior to accepting & embracing Islam I studied the teachings of Crowley and Occultism in general. I have enjoyed this forum greatly since joining and I look at it daily even though I don't always post.

That's a really cool coincidence then :)

I've studied most other big name occultists (Dee, Paracelsus, Levi, Blavatsky, Gurdjieff etc) during that period too. You either settle with it or move onto something that makes more sense, I guess.

In my own perspective, I think it gives me a unique position when it comes to Kufr and Sihr (often confused with occultism by Sunni's especially) being a Muslim, having explored Western and Eastern Occultism prior. At some point too, I realized that Western occultism wasn't a contrarian religious/spiritual tradition, but rather the fuel to the fire of the Western world (you know Chaos Magic and all).

Anyway, glad to be here :D
