Awesome documentary on Yoga (currently available on Amazon Prime). On Yoga: The Architecture of Peace follows photographer Michael O'Neill as he talks to the great Yoga masters in India, Tibet and New York. It shows a lot of Asana poses, but also many lengthy discussions on the philosophy of Yoga:

Nice trailer, thanks for sharing.

At one point someone says (I'm paraphrasing) that the conscious mind is fundamental, and material experience is "a dream", i.e. secondary, built on consciousness or occuring in it.

Is this a general tenet of Yoga philosophy, or rather this one person's, or a specific current's, view?

Yoga teaches the only thing that is not maya (illusion) is our Soul. This is the base, located in the area of our heart.
Mind, intellect, ego would be secondary of importance and that which stays with us during rebirths--along with our Soul.

Ok, I see.

Does this teaching apply to our subjective experience, in the sense that our thoughts and opinions and social constructs and so on, are illusions, or does it go all the way, that "objective" material reality is illusion?

It goes all the way; the objective material is illusion as well.

Our Soul is defined as Love--and nothing but Love. God is the SuperSoul. This Love is perfect so we are in our truest, deepest being. Our imperfections in human form is because we forget who we are (the ego taking over), which is the importance of Self-Realization.

I see a problem with what you said. If souls are defined as love then why are people committing evils in this world? Self realisation comes from spiritual connection, this comes from being connected to God and becoming in essence, a person of God. To do that would take more than just a realisation or feeling. It would take a lifestyle. If God is a supersoul does that mean God is going to get judged, because as we all know souls have a beginning and are owned by a supreme being. Spirits are different, they are based on pure identity. But what do you say to that?
