If I read you right, I think I agree!

I began "Love in the Time of Cholera" once, then again, then again ... I think the third or fourth time I got to p37 – I remember sitting on a tube train in Arnos Grove Station with poor expectations of the book, but I'd got this far, hadn't got another book with me on a 30 minute journey, so would press on a bit further –

– LTC is now one of my top five books. Possibly No1.

I have a theory that your favourite Marquez is the first one you read.

Yes, I read it on the bus commute.
 
Every line he writes is unexpected and a surprise. He weaves a tapestry. He so deserved the Nobel prize for 'solitude' imo
