Ayurvedic diet

Interesting, I have some vague ideas about balancing certain qualities of the foods, like heat, moisture and so on.

How does it work, can you give a summary here in the thread?

You do a quiz to see what personality type, aka Dosha, you are and then eat in order to pacify the qualities you have a problem with.

For example I am a Pitta and Vata (Fire and Air) Dosha. I eat foods that reduce these qualities and keep me more balanced.

There is No scientific research behind it but it has a Long history in Indian traditional medicine (a clinical science you could say) and sometimes I feel that it works for me.

What does it mean to you that you have fire and air qualities? Are they expressed in personality traits you notice about yourself, or digestive issues you struggle with, something like that?

According to indian traditional medicine the doshas the spiritual buildingblocks of our personality, bodytype and digestion.

To be totally correct;

Vata is composed of Air and Ether
Pitta is composed of Fire and Water.
Kapha is composed of Water and Earth.

You can be a single dosha or dual, but dual tends to be more stable. According to theosophy every living entity has its spiritual soul from the mineral kingdom to the human kingdom, and they are called elementals, so the elements builds doshas that make up our human composition.

According to this my temper should be one with strong emotions with a tendency to anxiety and being in my head. My body composition tends to digest poorly but use the energy fast in a metabolic sense.

And this is pretty accurate, I have IBS which has been my greatest healthissue except for very strong anxiety and burnout during my life
