I see it must eventually be considered that Our Goal must be the Oneness as humanity, serving each other under One God.

There can be no other answer to all the ills that face a divided humanity, we are as the body of man and our elixir is the unity of all the parts working together.

For any unity to be lasting, there has to be purpose and a focus of mind and God has given us the source of our focus, the Messengers of God.

I see that each and every one of those Messengers have informed us where our focus and devotion must be centred, each Messenger in turn, pointing us to the creative force known by the many Names and Attributes of the One God.

The Bible tells us how we will eventually build God's Kingdom on earth, as it already is in heaven. A harmony of Spiritual Virtues and Morality.

Zechariah 14:9 "And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one".

The key to this unity is our ability to throw away all the predudices we have built, race predudices, gender predudices and religious predudices, predudices resulting from our attachment to a material world, above our ability to embrace the Oneness given of God via all the Messengers and the 'Books' (Word) they have given.

It can happen no other way. Embracing the Oneness of humanity with the knowledge we are guided by the One same God, the God of Noah, Abraham, Krishna, Moses, Zoroaster, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, the Bab and Baha'u'llah.

The Lords prayer is offered at such times.

Matthew 6:9 "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Regards Tony

Thoughts on Aramaic versions of Lord's prayer vs the more universal translations?

Being one, serving G!d, what is humanities purpose in your mind (or Bahai thought)

I'm not even Christian, but thank you for this post. May the Lord bless you.

I see it very differently. All organisms' have a foundation to survive. The human organism is no different, it seeks to survive and that is the sole reason for its existence. The concept of something to spiritually cling to is a delusion created by mankind. Religion offers two things, and two things only; 1) Comfort and 2) Community

The concept of 'god' fails in that:
There is no evidence of such a god
The idea is illogical
The preponderance of suffering remains
We don’t need an external god
Life is better without god
Then what's your view on the absolute? :)

Ah, so there is a godself, but not outside of yourself? How do you define self? Like a dualistic entity or oneness with the rest of the cosmos, or both at the same time?

"The path to unity is our Oneness under One God"
.. and acceptance of a 19th Century uneducated Iranian as the latest manifestation of Allah with none to come in the next 800 years.

A sure-shot way to create disunity. Cannot fail. A concept that many consider as absurd.

A. Abrahamic religions are pretty much under one G!d.

B. This is the abrahamic forum, so to participate in nuance discussion about abrahamics we ask you either be respectful in your QUESTIONS with a serious desire to LEARN more about THEIR beliefs or simply read.

You have been around, know the code of conduct, know about our sand boxes...sheesh.

Yeah, I again made the mistake of bargin in a forum which is not my territory. Sorry for that.
Absolutely appreciated! All are welcome, it is about being respectful, holding a level of decorum that invites discussion.

And more and more I understand how important beliefs are to some. They benefit them and those around them. It is not upto us to pull any rug out from under them. At least not in their own house.

God is greater than the sum of all the religions of the world put together. Whatever we might call the God we worship, he is the creator of all that is seen and unseen. So we all worship the same God, but in our many diverse ways.

It makes total sense that the same God hears all our prayers despite our differences. It is not so much what we believe, but what our beliefs inspire us to do. Love, kindness and forgiveness should be a priority for all of us.

But only via the revelations of Baha'u'allah -- God's only valid messenger on Earth ? The word of Baha'u'allah is literally the final word of God to mankind for the next 1000 years to come?

God doesn't care what hat you wear, imo

Nobody owns God by their religion ...

Bahaollah is not the only valid manifestation (not messenger) of Allah. The older ones also are equally valid. I think Bahais accept nine. However, the message they brought is corrupted / not correctly understood / out of sync with time. Bahaollah had latest message from Allah for the next 1,000 years or so.

I understand that, in the same way Muslims believe that (most) Abrahamic writings previous to the Quran are 'corrupted' by transmission. To me that's the same as saying they are invalid, except the parts that agree with Islamic or Baha'i teachings?
