Would you have time to explain the significance of these rituals?

Hindu rituals are detailed. They will start with worship of earth where the worship is taking place, Varuna as the deity of waters, the deity of the region (Kshetrapala). All the Gods and Goddesses will be invoked to bless the occasion and be witnesses. The idol is immersed in various things as welcome and empowerment, because then the idol will be considered as live and imparter of the devotees wishes. A day before the consecration, the idol was treated nearly as living with offer of breakfast, mid-day meal, seista, afternoon snacks and sleep. This routine will strictly be followed throughout the temple's existence, which means till eternity, as they say ''till the sun and moon exist', because I do not see any reason why the temple would cease to exist. It is a serious aberration, if the ritual is not followed, and which will require detailed rectification. There are a hoard of priests to see that it is strictly followed. On the consecration day, there is a small ritual lasting just 84 seconds when the priest declares the idol as living after which it is opened to worship. I hope you get the gist of the significance of these rituals.
