Some observations -
Where I now live, there is a church building around the corner on the next block. It used to house the Third Reformed Church (Dutch reformed but they don't use the term Dutch as often anymore) I went to a service there once a few years ago. It just didn't click for me. I tried to go to their community dinners - I think by the time I managed to get to one they had stopped holding them or something. Or I couldn't figure out which door to get in maybe? I've forgotten what went wrong but in any case, that church closed.

There is a non denominational church that's been around for - maybe 10 years, maybe more, has been housed in a couple of different places.
I had gone to a couple of their services and bible studies a few times a few years ago.
What I liked about them was their positive optimistic attitude, their explicit rejection of political angling, and their blend of egalitarianism with evangelical energy

Now in 2025:
They acquired the building. I went to their open house today.
They are in process of doing great things with the building (they have little signs up explaining and they explained it in their talk today)
100 year old building is structurally sound, but an incredible amount of work had to be done and still has to be done to make it truly usable.
They already have plans, they already have partnering with other community groups doing good works for the community and plan to use the space in a lot of positive ways.

I might go occasionally, see what they are developing in the neighborhood.
They have the energy to do a lot of great things.

I will update periodically.
