Good Lord ... yes, I waded through it from start to finish!
I have kefir on my Topsy Porridge every morning.
I hope it's helping my gut. It's doing something to my gut. I have noticed I break wind some nights with such authority that elephants ands hippos can be found on the doorstep the next morning. For a North London suburb, that's quite something ...
A few years ago I was reading an article about the gut-heart connection. Scientists were theorizing that the stomach could control heart rhythms. Don't know whatever happened with that research. I sometimes wonder how much our organs affect each other.
From what I've been reading, it's becoming very much accepted in mainstream science that the digestive system isn't simply some passive region that accepts commands from the brain, but instead provides a very powerful feedback mechanism to it.
