As my musings on the nature of Christ, Christianity and doctrine seems at present to be moving in a certain speculative direction, I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that I am of the opinion that the devotions of the "simple" or "superstitious" or "naive" faithful before some revered statue or relic or ikon of a saint, is probably closer to the heart of Christ than the heady ramblings of myself in the more stratospheric heights of Christian contemplation.

Just thought I'd put that out there ...

Though the heady contemplation and the simple devotions are not mutually exclusive
before some revered statue or relic or ikon of a saint, is probably closer to the heart of Christ
Although I have wondered at various times over the years what Jesus/Yeshua, a Jew, would think of the statues, relics, and ikons
the heady ramblings of myself in the more stratospheric heights of Christian contemplation.
I hope you keep the heady ramblings coming though. I appreciate the insights, explanations, and references
