At least, the suggestion so far is that it hadn't spread - but I'm not sure whether that's simply being implied, or that the omission is in itself telling:

My brother in law recovered fully from lung cancer after an operation and later radio therapy. But it wasn't fun and obviously Pope Leo is going to be out-of-sorts. I like him.

My wife had the same op last year. All clear now, and she'll receive follow-up checks.

I hope both she, and he, and your brother in law stay well.

My brother in law passed away just over a year ago at the age of 76 with heart problems but his cancer was completely cured. It was gone and he lived for more than 12 years. I have no words for what you and your wife are going through 🙏

Believe me, that one was a walk in the park, compared to the surgery sh'd had sixth months' previously, a full-on heart bypass, which I was told, repeatedly, would take about four hours, only to phone every thirty minutes past the deadline to be told she was still in theatre, where she was, eventually, for eight hours ... What went through my mind in those last hours I would not wish on anyone ....

Condolences on your loss.

We are at that age when ...
